we're back gamers and you know what just when we almost knocked it out. we random and now we're playing a different fella. we're different, a different person. remove two cards from your deck lose 16 hp gain a potion slot to random potions. but the real question is, what would you rather have? if the relic was get a potion slot into random potions, would you be going that's awesome or that's bad? i would be going that's awesome. but let's grab it. those are two uncommon potions i think as well.
-
0:31
so what are we gonna run with the necrobinder? i honestly have no idea. and maybe that's the right play, is to not commit to the build before we know what's gonna be on the build itself. but suffice it to say, we're just gonna do our darnedest as we so often do. early on, i feel like my strat is always protect oste, but that only lasts as long as it takes for us to actually get a further defined archetype. worked out pretty nicely there though.
-
1:05
it's tough because defy is obviously insNLy good and ethereal is like a great archetype to build around. i think having one soh is totally fine in this or in mahjong. i would put a spiral on a defend. i feel like one energy, possibly 16 block card, especially early on is kind of insane. huge. and i'm not minding this at all. and honestly,
-
1:36
if anything, this puts us in a position where we really feel like we might be able to get an even bigger ost going because we already have a little defense focus. but now that we've taken a show and gotten a little bit more defense, it's time to figure out how this run could really work. deathbringer is very interesting man. i'm taking i'm going big ost. i'm going big ost, i'm taking another ost.
-
2:09
i do like grave warden with the... giving us the souls too. soul is just a good card. i mean eight block for one and then draw in the future. certainly, certainly a little interesting. no block off this is kind of devastating but at the very least you know what i think you're gonna give a potion so like i might as well use one.
-
2:35
sorry, it happens. on this one, i really feel like aren't you just better off not killing you because we could save the kill on you for a later moment and use it when we're about to take a bunch of damage. like hypothetically on this turn for example. i actually think this is this is a pretty good setup man. i haven't really figured out how i feel about the necrobinder yet. did not get a potion though. brother give me another one. i mean i think this is
-
3:04
getting to the point where it might be a touch risky. i mean, after all, it is a common card. i'll fight them for greater rewards, man. we got to send it here. you're literally not dying. i'm not using a potion on that one then i'll use a potion to keep you alive in a different situation like this one. that's huge. you have to sew brave warden how we looking off that 18 you're doing 28 you'll literally die triple my block.
-
3:37
and then we, it's just only in so far as it takes for us to get an unleash bro, which we literally just got. you're gonna do 12 damage. it's this into the biggest unleash you've ever seen in your life man. and you know what? this is an all in potion situation i think. unleash again, unleash. we freaking got it man. 13 damage. 15, 16. i mean we do so little damage with our strikes we might as well play a block instead.
-
4:15
so is a necessary card. this kills you 16 obviously i expect him to to die on this turn, but we've taken one out now we have to deal with one less and he's taking more damage per turn than i am that's that's positive man. i mean, i'm only doing four damage for what are the greater rewards? i don't know. have i ever done this have i ever beaten this guy before not taking damage? that's a dub him taking three damage small dub, but a dub nonetheless. i
-
4:51
wait, this is actually like, i mean, we would have shelled out on potions, don't get me wrong, but that was awesome. red mask is crazy good, i think. barry, we just can't afford to play, to be honest with you. we'll take a defy. i'm graciously asking you to remember that i also know that i need damage, okay? that's one of the rare times you'll see me upgrade a basic defend. i also know that i need damage, which is why i'm skirting these elites, even though we did just basically beat an elite, i guess.
-
5:25
give me an attack potion. i think drain power is literally better. the other one's scaled, pull from below i should say, scales, but it only scales by five per ethereal. we have one ethereal card. you don't need me to do the math on that. the numbers ain't great. let's put it that way. the big oste build seems to be the play here. only one card in the discard pile.
-
6:02
i mean the fella is he's not just big, he's freaking huge. let's put some respect on him. look at that in a 32 damage oste attack. wait, wait, wait, wait, wait, man. this is a skip i'm afraid cuz bone shards kills oste so it's gonna be a dead card in a lot of situations. but already picking one damage, one damage, but i'm not gonna take one damage because i'm going to wipe you out. and then we only have to deal with one of yous.
-
6:41
which is not even a big deal. okay, so i guess, sorry, i lost my train of thought from earlier, but literally our big oste build is already online. the only thing is we don't have reliable ways except for bodyguard, which is not a reliable way, but we don't have the means to resummon after the summons go wrong. so we desperately need to keep him alive. if he dies, which he will against the boss, we've got problems.
-
7:16
this is devastating man. there's an awesome doom build in here waiting to happen. i'll take right hand hand, but it literally like, i mean we don't have any cards that cost two or more so not really helping us all that much. the whole run hinges on unleashed right now or unleash i should say. definitely should save the soul because he summons an individual but you only play one skill per turn.
-
7:49
not that devastating when we have a defend that has an awesome replay on it. or that for example, doing six damage, we hit you with this. you're summoning, so so would go crazy next turn. i would honestly the defend seems like more productive and then just stall. so literally gets a kill next turn. unleash does a ton of damage. he's literally gonna die next turn regardless. okay, wait.
-
8:22
something's not going right because this is now convincing me that this run is actually good. is this run actually good? i think we take a pull from below and start to try to build around it, like get a sculpted strike or something like that. choose a card in your draw pile, add it to your i can do that for an upgraded rare skill because literally none of we're winning by committee. we're like the
-
8:47
we're like the carolina hurricanes. we don't have a traditional superstar like a connor mcdavid level player, no disrespect to like seth jarvis or sebastian ajo, but like we win by committee, you know, we win by good coaching, lunch pail type stuff, okay? so we can afford to lose a card getting put into our hand to get an upgraded rare skill. it's an ethereal card that transforms, another ethereal card that transforms a bad card and or a curse
-
9:18
into a soul which will draw faster into our other ethereal cards. yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. developers, developers, developers, developers! and we get some time. we get some time to make it work on the lagavulin. draw. draw early and often. huge. i'm not waking him up yet. we got a couple of turns to work with. keep in mind, we gotta keep oste alive at least long enough to get some ethereal work done out there.
-
9:49
what do i not want to do? i mean, you have to dump grave warden because you can't get rid of unleash. it's that simple. i literally... i'm not going to wake you up because it costs too much energy. i'm just going to summon a little bit more and plan for the future. okay, here we go lads. pull from below. should start to get half decent soon. we sold. i was really hoping to get weakness. that's okay. you have to unleash. save your soul because we need to keep oste alive as long as possible to play more unleash. no defy. devastating. but...
-
10:20
good turn nonetheless. play your right hand hand. pull from below hits for 10. we have an attack that hits for 8 and an attack that hits for 6. the 8 attack has retained, so i'm holding it for now. hopefully we'll find a good opportunity to play it later. you definitely play your defy. you play your defy, you're freaking chilling. we dump a basic defend. all of a sudden, pull from below is hitting for 20. and this is like a be careful who you call ugly in middle school type situation.
-
10:51
because we're going to be drawing through it way faster too, because look at this. little summon coming off the top there. two extra attacks for next to none damage. we don't even care if you hit us because unleash does all our damage anyway, except for pull from below, which admittedly is like extremely important. now that i think about it. unleash hits you for 33. let's get a s.o. out there. it is going to be a bit of a knife fight here. three damage, three damage. i can't keep you alive, man. that stings.
-
11:28
what i can do is scale pull from below faster than we get screwed. take out a basic defend. i mean, we are i don't know man take out a basic strike at this point. we got to hit you though. still does 18 damage. we're taking zero which is nice. you're taking a turn off to be a great turn to do a little bit of work. we really need these unleash man. one block.
-
12:00
i go for two damage over one block any day of the week. how about a defy? yeah, that's big. and then a defend, which doubles up a pull from below that hits for seven, 18 damage. i'm literally not dead. so we defy on you again. cut at this point, cut a strike that does nothing, does nothing, bro. we can get there. no, we obviously we can't get there. we're toast. we're toast, man. we're toast. we didn't scale fast enough.
-
12:39
if i, soul me. unless we, wait, what is pull from below gonna do? zero damage. i think it's gonna do zero, yeah, cuz it's gonna do negative one damage every time, right? that's so demoralizing, bro. well, you just kill me, just kill me. that was such a good run. it just needed to go, it needed to go like 2% faster to get to escape velocity to avoid crashing into the planet. that's criminal. what they just did to me is criminal.
-
13:21
i'll take one of two colorless. and to be honest with you, i mean, i love how can you not like a flash of steel? how could you not be romantic about baseball, man? how can you not be romantic about slay the spire? yeah, we lost. it was awesome. could have been worse. we could have been gifted a win, bro. and then put the game down forever. not gonna happen on my watch. let's put it that way. okay, you're done, lad. all we need to do is hit you with one of these. one of those, you're done. okay. and then literally not even taking damage.
-
13:56
smack in the you know what out of you. i'm a big flash of steel guy man. enfeebling touch is really good plus it's ethereal. let's try to add some more cards that work with us man. i mean there's a lot to like here. i can't afford both lethality and pull from below. i think pull from below, it strikes me as one of those cards you can kind of force. like you could just take pull from below early and then be like oh we'll just do ethereal then. because the ethereal cards are already good.
-
14:28
to have one more excuse to take them is actually is nice. now it's gonna be a bit of a dead draw for a minute, but could be worse. everything could be a dead draw on the boss. don't know if you just experienced that like we did, but seven damage, seven damage i sleep. didn't need to play both defense in hindsight, but literally just play that. it's just math man, the game is just calculus, okay?
-
15:02
it ain't rocket science, it's just math and physics. historically, i don't really like this card to be honest with you. death march, i could see death march being important for us early on. huge, we don't take any damage, we get extra energy next turn. death march and with a flash of steel and also in a deck that has souls, there's a lot to like there. i wish i did a little bit more damage that term, but it is what it is. we don't have draw. on this turn, i think the play is
-
15:46
take no damage, get you one hit away from death, but preferably don't even kill you next turn. this is where i've gone wrong with these guys is focusing all of my damage on you. that being said, i think we have to actually go back on the plan. we didn't draw the kind of cards that i needed to draw in order to feel good about the situation we were in. i apologize, but everything went fine regardless. i mean, parse and death march work well together and fear is a common more likely to show up later. now either way you have to fight an elite.
-
16:21
i think i'd rather fight after a question mark and have more options. upgrade tua? if we get one basic and one card that we've gotten as a reward, i'd feel happy. i didn't say i would be more upset than i've ever been in my life if it didn't go down that way. i'm still feeling okay. i'm not feeling horrible about it in the whole scheme of things, if that's what you're asking. this is totally fine. so far, so good. now, you are getting really strong.
-
17:02
that's not even that bad, man. and death march is crazy here. and you're getting there. you're taking your time. i'm not using a block potion to block that little damage, especially with an open potion slot, which is something you have to consider. we love an enfeebling touch. an 11 damage unleash, taking 16. again, stall him a little bit. the more time we wait, the stronger we'll be after we get through this part, which is huge for us.
-
17:39
because it's more time for pull from below to have gotten stronger to take you out when you're more annoying to deal with. science, you lose eight. would i rather hit you for 25 on this one? what do we draw in next turn? not much is the answer, but i think you've got to play it. and then next time we kind of go off for free. huge, exactly what we wanted to draw. unlikely to do 24 in one, but this is where you would want to, whoa, never mind. and vyra too?
-
18:18
severance is interesting here, man, cuz these souls will help our death march do something too. we're not a soul driven deck, but the death march might be able to become like half decent as a result. that being said, no way this is literally good. you play it for 14 damage. don't play your soul yet. you need to save your energy. you can only play one skill per turn. literally is that supposed to be a problem for a beast like me? that's no issue whatsoever young pup.
-
18:52
that's nothing. yeah, yeah, young pup is my new expression. guys, i made a horrible decision here. forgot you can only play one skill per turn. new plan. new plan, we don't generate souls against this guy. just kill him as fast as possible. new no nos. new plan, we rest at the next campfire cuz i have put us into a dangerous situation here. it wasn't that bad.
-
19:34
i do feel like dredge could be awesome. mostly because people keep telling me dredge is awesome. and then when i use it, i go, this card sucks. and then they go, you're using it wrong. they say you're using it wrong. maybe this is the time that i use it right. festive, i like festive popper outside of multiplayer on an enemy like this. this is a beautiful festive popper type situation. let's wipe one and then start going to town on the next one that's closest to death.
-
20:13
i do hate to lose so many ethereal cards, but this isn't the boss fight. you don't have to worry about that, young pup. you can chill on that, cuz watch this. that puts you in a horrible situation, bro. you know what would go crazy here? and these are not elites, but at some point, letter opener. and then every three skills, do they even have letter opener in this game? i'm realizing letter opener may be a card that does not exist in slay the spire, or a relic that does not exist in slay the spire 2. it may only exist in slay the spire 1. that's the popper's dub here.
-
20:46
this is an enfeebling touch into a delay, of course. i don't know why i thought i would have extra energy there. i go because i have it next turn. if only festive poppers did eight damage to all enemies per turn. thoughts on that? what could we draw that would be huge here? very little, honestly. this fight's kind of a slow burn, unfortunately. we have like 19 block. they're doing 18 damage. oh my god, are we really not getting hit? that's crazy.
-
21:25
this does 14 damage, literally gets a kill. actually sort of insane that it does. next turn could be big enough for death march to get a kill by itself. this is not that bad. it's definitely big enough for death march to get a kill by itself. you get a kill on the biggest enemy by itself. oh! all right, let's spread them out a little. eight block.
-
21:57
yeah, and then just do some damage here so that you're killable. this was like a dreamy fight. that's huge. we ice you and then don't get impatient man. but we're like basically built to take these enemies out. i don't know what i would do off of this. grab a soul. we can get three cards. we grab death march soul flash of steel. soul for a soul. huge. bone flu whenever ost attacks gain two block.
-
22:34
not really what we're built for, but not necessarily bad. i'm taking the coward's way out on this one. fish mode, fish mode is intangible. something to think about. i think you definitely don't play early dredge. makes more sense to play it when you've got better stuff in your discard pile. the game understander has logged on. i like the necrobinder, they just, i don't know. they just feel nice, man. huge turn, holy cow. smack him.
-
23:16
quick little grave warden situation into a parse into a we want to be able to play death march is going to play for 30. the only question is who do i use them and that's the thing. now death march just 39 damage. you do get stronger every turn does feel like we could probably kill you because you're gonna get block. i'm sorry, i got a little cheeky with it. because you're only getting two strength. what do i got to strength? who cares about two strength bro?
-
23:51
i'm more worried about the block. yeah, man, let's do it. let's take another severance. i don't know. now i'm a little scared. i'm just gonna rest. it doesn't take us over max hp. it just takes us closer. need that little bit of damage. no soul yet. the soul's for the future, man. i forgot you place a lot of beckons in our hand. nasty beckons. still taking zero. and you might seem like we're not scaling. we're scaling, bro. we're just scaling behind the zines.
-
24:27
this is an easy dredge, you obviously want soul, soul, death march. then you go soul, soul, and i recognize we're not drawing as much as we could, but still, 33 damage off of that feels pretty nice, maybe. but either way, we did lose parse, but our pull from below is getting stronger. but now i'm looking at how much stronger it's getting, spoilers not very, and i'm saying really? you're our other ethereal card, i guess.
-
25:06
i guess i'd rather play a defend and take them do one damage but huge. dump this trash. i feel like i might be crazy. i still feel like this is going pretty okay. we've taken almost no damage. he's half dead. it's not like we've lost any cards that are like truly exceptional out of our deck. we'll get that death march with a bunch of souls in the future. maybe just don't burn them. on the other hand, we could burn them. we don't have the energy to make it worthwhile anyway.
-
25:47
save them and then maybe you get the god turn where you soul into soul into soul into soul into soul into soul into death march into soul into death march into soul. i honestly think this is working out pretty nicely, man. we have our death march. let's try to make it work. a soul into soul into we have to play this into a 21 damage death march but we take 10. you should see the other guy. how many souls we got in here? almost as many as we've got beckons and
-
26:30
all right, pull from below, pull from below coming through in the clutch here for 30 damage. i don't know why my game's lagging. please, please, please. you have to play the beckon. just i'm reminding myself we have to play beckon. or do we just draw into? oh my god, there's so many more beckons bro, but then we're doing no damage.
-
27:01
what are you gonna do? you have to play them both. you have to play them both. are you gonna be intangible next turn? no, man. okay, now we go crazy though. not really, not really, dog. now you don't really go crazy on that. do i have an attack? do i have an attack? i'm one damage away from killing you. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my god. my
-
27:44
for some reason i thought this was like a, we were an oste build, we are not. brightest flame, brightest flame. in energy the start of each turn extinguishes the start act three start with an additional four energy is definitely brightest flame man. and then if we have to lose max hp we lose max hp. it would be nice if we had the freaking chosen cheese though. crazy start. we need a bag of prep badly. like the wizard needs food.
-
28:26
you need to draw off this. you need brightest flame. need some block. need as much block as you can muster and then a little bit of support in the future. guys, it looks horrible. the run looks horrible. let's draw some cards. it can definitely stun you. that's not even up for discussion. we're not gonna play brightest flame every time because we lose max hp off of it. you have to be a little cautious about it for sure.
-
28:59
i recognize that shared fate hurts the enemy and doesn't hurt oste. i'm not going to rework the whole run just to fit one card. that's like a classic mistake. instead we'll just not rework the whole run and like maybe lose? like i don't know what the other plan that i could possibly be working on here is. horrible turn man, just like a god awful sort of turn.
-
29:33
we're dying the basic enemies after barely killing the boss. it feels like it should be the sort of thing that could not come to pass but clearly is. that being said, as i ran out of energy, i drew enough cards to essentially kill you and then ran out of energy. not good. taking one damage is okay. we can make it back. wait, why don't i just attack you and stun you? i'm losing my mind! we're gonna make it back from this, bro.
-
30:13
because at this point, at this point, like the point that we're at right now, the point that you're watching, we have to, because we have to. another ethereal card that does damage, huge. how do i rest? you need it. don't even think about it. we're literally chilling. that's huge. by the way, w festive popper. it's saving my life as we speak. you need to go and you need everybody needs to go here. you most of all, we'll just put up an amazing attack next time and kill you. things that would have been nice if they could have happened. we can still.
-
31:01
i was gonna say we can get to enough block. we can't, but we can take zero damage and just put it all on oste, which is actually, i think it's fine. a soul for a soul for a soul. explosive ampule. we're definitely gonna need some potion use, man. it's a race to the campfire at this point. not that bad because we have that too. we can kill one. we can kill one.
-
31:42
which also gave us a block. good to know. that would have been an interesting time to use a potion for sure, but stun is done. the file gets a kill, but it's going to take two attacks to kill you. and then how do we put up block? unless you just say, you know what? but a flex potion is still just going to kill one. what can dredge bring back? nothing. nothing too prudent. i think we got to go in on you. you got to take the kill.
-
32:20
and then we do take three off of this. but taking three damage is far from the end of the world in this situation. got a potion. another ethereal card that could actually help us stay alive. i need to divine, because i need some help. there's nothing here? two divinations remaining. damn, we actually did pretty well there. potion belt's huge. i was kind of hoping we'd get some potions, but...
-
33:01
three energy draw two cards at the start of return apply to doom literally just kills us retain if osti is alive he dies you gain block equal to double his max hp really not what we're trying to build for another defile seems like it could do something sure man a second pull from below our rares i feel like we kind of struck out all right now i mean it's getting real this is getting very real now i think you play defy because it's ethereal and then use your block potion
-
33:46
taking zero damage, putting souls out here that we can actually use semi productively. the file. you need to play in feebling touch. i'm not going to dredge back a bunch of stuff that costs zero. we're going to go in. you're going to wake up next turn. this is where it's about to get real, man. literally, like our flex potion is borderline useless. 16, you're doing 18, you're doing 28. this gives us two block. this gives us five block. it's our only chance to stay alive.
-
34:28
who's the idiot now, bro? i lived. so what's the play? that's the play. crazy to say we still die unless maybe you pop a flex potion. parse will make everything better and we live. and then we still got a fight but this time with no potions they do 18 damage turn one.
-
35:11
i have to make you weak, but it doesn't work and i have to make you lose strength, but it doesn't work. i really put my all into that one, man. i really did. for now, thanks for watching. i still love slay this fire 2. i love it. in fact, i love it more when it abuses me more. but for now, thanks for watching. if you enjoyed it, click the like button. it's been great deal. subscribe if you want to see more in the future. i'll see you next time. later.
