gamers, we did it. umm, the revenant season 9 under control. how about the necrobinder? he's got binders full of ostie. two random relics. i hate adding a strike in defense, man. i mean, of course there's situations where the relic could be awesome. card reward and a potion? ugh.
-
0:23
you know 150 gold is worth more than a random card in a potion because i can choose what this that's like a potions worth of gold plus a cards worth of gold but i can choose the potion in the card. that makes sense to me. you know what that makes a lot of sense to me. i kind of want a campfire maybe it's here take advantage of our excess gold hit this
-
0:50
optional pivot, then you're kind of locked into some combat. but by then, by halfway through floor one, well, our deck will probably be sorted so we don't even have to think about it. now, what are we going to build? i've had some okay results as the necrobinder, but i have absolutely no idea what i'm going to build until we get started, to be honest with you. this literally makes us not take damage, which is awesome.
-
1:18
it's oste in a bit of a tight spot, don't get me wrong. never mind. he literally tanks those. i'm gonna say literally every two sentences it's gonna be one of those kinds of runs. he literally lives again. wait, is it time to have the conversation that maybe the necrobinder has the best starting deck? or did i just draw the perfect cards at the perfect time? honestly, i'll take a sculpting strike. i like the cut of the ethereal build sometimes.
-
1:50
35 gold for two potions here is kind of awesome. obviously transforming a striker of defense could be great, but two potions probably... i actually like this a lot. we still have enough to buy a relic if there's a good one. and my thinking is that by using these potions we take... we have a lower chance of taking a bunch of damage, which means we have a better chance of upgrading a card at that first campfire. am i crazy? no.
-
2:26
i'm just a little unwell. i don't think it's reap. i think it's putrefy and then... pun pickup enchant an attack with momentum five. increase this card's attack damage by five this combat when played. yeah, i don't know about that. um... we don't have to spend it just because we got it. every other combat your card rewards have an additional power. i think it's got to be high five, man. like a high five and then a defy and then cut a...
-
3:07
cut a strike, still got 50 gold. one of the things that makes me like crash out is when people are like you have two potions, you have to use one. you don't have to use one. you only have to use one if there's a reason to use it.
-
3:26
if we're gonna take damage, you use this to draw. if we can get the kill, you use this to apply vulnerable. what if one drops? playing something for zero benefit is a loss, bro! if something drops, we evaluate what the elites could be, and then the next combat node that we have is an elite, and then we say, well, which one's gonna be best for this? well, we're probably vulnerable because we need to do damage, and then maybe we see what the other one is, or we look at it, okay? if it's explosive ampeul, we might go up against the eel, so of course we take it. we can literally not take damage this turn.
-
4:00
i would hate to lose this but it is what it is. not taking damage is the name of the game. well, the name of the game is slay the spire 2. the revenant season 9. i still think the 5 is pretty good. i don't mind taking two of those. alright, so far so good. yeah, i'd say 3 vulnerable to all enemies. kind of insane. 13 damage and applies 3 vulnerable to all enemies. for now, i'm going to apply some vulnerable to you early. 6 vulnerable. sort of insane. this turn,
-
4:49
putrefy kind of sucks on this turn because we already have so much vulnerability. so i think we just use our potion. you can do as much damage as possible. i mean, it's a race now. so draw the other defy. very important alongside a putrefy for the extended weakness. and then the last card doesn't really matter. teen. okay, this sucks. we need that. we need our ult. we need high five. we got high five. hitcha.
-
5:29
ethereal a bodyguard, high five ya. we kill you next turn. very sensible decision to rest, but i think that could have gone worse. elites drop an additional rare? really? source? i don't think we have the base for capture spirit yet. you know what? i'm gonna go crazy, man. probably not a necessary upgrade, but whenever you rest, procure two rate of potions! we literally did it in the optimal order by accident! holy cow!
-
6:09
that's why you do that. that's exactly what i expected to happen. that's why when you have campfire, treasure chest campfire, you always smitten the first one and rest of the second one in case the treasure chest has tiny mailbox in it. are you paying attention? any questions?
-
6:33
w crash out, unc. sorry, i did it so you don't have to. you could have a hundred boys in bars, but it won't do that much to stop the champlar. i think this is not great for us, but at least we avoid taking damage. same can't be said for him, but whatever. it ain't me, babe. mogged. literally probably could have played bodyguard and ended his life, but alack and alas.
-
7:18
interesting. an interesting series of draws on this one. we have attacks in our deck. i know we've got attacks. we just have to draw. powdered demise. defile does a decent amount of damage. i guess we could use another attack that actually does something. surely, we like that. i think it's a good first turn. i'm not burning one of these just to burn them. they're going to have to give me a reason to do so. this is our all in. beautiful. absolutely beautiful.
-
8:02
now the question is whether we do a lead or no elite. that's a spicy meatball. i'm not gonna lie to you, that one's a bit of a spicy meatball. he did give us a potion. i think powdered demise kind of sucks to be honest. dredge at some point will be exceptional. i'm happy to add it and then just tank it till then. yes, i see the problem. we can at least get one kill. we can get two kills. we have to commit to two kills. oh.
-
8:51
and hindsight should have accepted the one kill. i hate these guys. i hate these guys. i hate them. we avoid taking damage. nope. well, i'm not even going to attack you then, bro. i'm just gonna throw the, i guess the strength potion would have gone crazy there. i'm crashing out. i'm going to take no damage. i'm not crashing out. high five. high five. no high five. no. and then we take three, whatever we rest, we rest and we get two potions. what do we even have next? more combat.
-
9:43
it could go kind of hard. more combat! you know what i'm talking about gamers? we could have done a lot better there. that's our play. more aoe. so if anything, we can at least and should at least use both potions on this fight. i know you're gonna say something. you're gonna say something glib. you're gonna say, what the dredge doing? i don't have a good answer for that right now. surely i live. yep, easily. and then you got this fella. greatest play in my life.
-
10:38
a clarity extract is kind of insane though. umm... wait, i think we need a sew. or invoke, i should say. we need the energy base. let's see what the potions are. gain a ritual and a strength potion? definitely would rather gain a ritual, but clarity extract is kind of incredible. okay, who's this? i would say it's fair to suggest that, insofar as we're speaking right now, we may have some problems here. to couch it in no uncertain terms. the longer we survive, the more strength we get.
-
11:16
it's gonna take a minute, obviously. high five, kinda nice with it. what else we got? i mean, you're killing me? you're killing me this turn? not quite. thought about it. 16 damage plus 12 damage does not kill you. i think you do want a defy. defy on you though, and then defile on you. six and ten. one damage taken. now we have to go in, man. wait, what, this sucks? this is horrible?
-
12:13
you just make yourself strong, but you still you save us a card. so i gotta get rid of ya. i mean that sucked insNLy badly. no weakness, huh? so we're certainly dead. we'll play our best blocking cards. you're doing 19. wait, they have 22? we live? 9 damage. we have a weakness. we have a further block enabler. sucks to not be able to play the high five, but now you gotta pay the price.
-
13:02
12 damage. i am going to die. i'm going to pass away. i'm going to pass away, i think. if i'm being honest, we kind of deserved to die earlier there. i think we screwed that run up a lot. that being said, we got like an hour to run it back. that's a beautiful amount of time for a slay the spire run.
-
13:26
it's got to be leafy poultice, man. what do you got for me? sycam. two oste cards that have synergy with each other. whenever he hits an enemy, this turns summon two and then something that hits all enemies. i don't know if that would trigger x times where x is the number of enemies, but still. let's try incredibly high risk, high reward path. beautiful start. they should start you with five energy on turn one by default. game's hard enough. literally, we run these streets.
-
14:09
summon 4, gain 7 blocks. wait, summon 3, exhaust the card. there's something to this, man. we might have big oste builds. a little cleanse. exhaust... exhaust the bodyguard. it's actually a pretty good card for what we're trying to do, but whatever. whatever, man. it happens. like a sycam? nope. no, this is a wrong play. something like that, we take 1 damage, but it's no biggie. ain't sweating it, man. flatten, also pretty sick.
-
14:58
this time, let's transform a card. we got plenty of oste attacks. let's transform a strike. whenever you play an ethereal card, gain 4 block. one sculpting... i don't know, i might be overthinking it a little bit. beautiful first turn imo. 29 damage, 1 vulnerability, we took 0. absolutely beautiful from oste here. he's popping off, bro. i don't know what you want me to say. he's popping off. second flatten? absolutely. i think we built a great elite killing deck.
-
15:41
i'll take a fear. i know like it's tempting to take another uh oasty attack but they're getting pretty expensive. resting produces two potions i still really like. this guy's obviously horrible he's a piece of garbage but wait we can exhaust it if it ends up in our draw pile. he was attacking that turn huh? yeah i don't want to i don't want to see him. i understand the problem with that i don't want to see him. i don't want to see those three extra infections. you're kind of darned if you do darned if you don't but
-
16:30
wipe one, i think, and then remove an infection. i'm not saying we're not gonna take damage. i think we're definitely gonna take some damage. this is exactly what we wanted to see though. you want to see a high five, then this gets one kill. we literally take one damage. they each have two vulnerability. i don't know how much better this could have gone with the deck that we have. certainly getting another high five would have hit the spot, but it's a little greedy unless we get a this turn. sikkim? sikkim and a strike? that was not bad at all.
-
17:04
at the start of each combat, three souls into your draw pile. i still don't think haunt is the way, but there's a temptation. it's just 18 damage to an enemy. ethereal card gives... you know what? it's gotta be the... this is the way. and then rest for two potions. only going to 35 hp stings though. giriya. not that relevant on an oste build. i'm actually gonna... i'm gonna be aggressive and fight this elite. i think i'm doing okay.
-
17:43
first time you play this card each combat gain an energy. i mean, i do think that's worth man. put it on a two cost card and then go all in here if you have to go all in. i think a sikkim, into a liquid memories sikkim, cleanse ascenders bane, 15 damage unleash that also summons, maybe save a skill potion for a future turn. this is a nice little block battery for us. start here, play that, then here.
-
18:31
didn't do as much damage as i was hoping, but this is why we got the skill potion, bro. start here, get a little damage bonus. one of these, then hear me out. lots of interesting stuff. i'm gonna say a big delay on this one. give me a cleanse that exhausts the spirit of ash. big flatten. we don't even take damage, holy cow. we went all out on potions. all fully acknowledged we went all out on potions there, but that's okay. summon 15, end of war paint. wait, this could be peak, bro.
-
19:19
i really like the idea of a drain power. i would rather upgrade. too vulnerable? it has to be done. nah, you can do that first. and then get a... take no damage and get a potion from this. how am i gonna take no damage here? i mean, using your summoning potion means you take no damage. if you're gonna use your summoning potion, you should use it immediately because it helps unleash do more damage. like a lot more. which means you should have played that first too, but i don't care about protecting your hp that much. let's get in on him.
-
20:11
i think that was a w potion usage in spite of everything else. we got a lot more like early game utility in this one now. energy potions, very nice. i don't think we need that oste attack. everything's looking good, but i do think you fight the elite man. i think you take a chance on this beast. it's gonna be a fight in a phone booth for sure. haunt showing up right now is so important. you get to play something like that. oh, you get an energy back? ooh.
-
20:59
then with one extra energy you do 10 damage or you block 8. next turn they're vulnerable. next turn we have 15 plus 18. next turn we have 33 damage you block on this turn. that's how you slay the freaking spire, man! weak potion and red mask. okay. right hand hand. easy oste summon plays. who's the boss?
-
21:33
boss is telling me we need explosive ampuul. did i just skip something? was i playing too fast? did i just skip a reward or something? okay. sycam? right hand hand. flatten? that costs two, bro. that costs two! i don't care what i paid for it, it costs two! remember you play a card this turn. apply three dune to the enemy? i mean, this is all right. we already have good vulnerability though. i think you take oblivion and you hate that you played it late, but like...
-
22:19
getting the doom out there might help us kill this guy a couple turns faster. you need haunt. high five gives you an energy refund and puts an attack back in your hand. you're gonna die to doom anyway, but that keeps you from doing damage to me, which is pretty nice. and then you know what? summon seven. it blocks seven. you're hitting the wrong fella. we need the upgrades, truth be told. don't die here. it's beneath you to die here.
-
23:08
basically played a curse never want to see it again. what do you got 12 damage 12 damage is heavy snooze territory guess what? you got nine doom on you now things are getting interesting. it's a sickum. you're doing 12 fear is basically to block because it didn't it's not fear is me hitting that's okay. it lets us play that for more damage we're taking none. we want to make sure you live that's devastating really don't want to cut that card six times three
-
23:52
yeah, yeah, i can do that math. just give me a minute. 13 damage 3 vulnerable. you're cooked obviously. what do you do? keep him alive, bro. keep him alive. keep me alive. keep me alive. huge. it's an oblivion into sikkim into flatten into defend into strike and now you got 21 doom on you. wait a second. the right hand hand. we're not dying. i don't think we exhausted anything. but we're not freaking dying. i'll tell you that much. he lived, bro.
-
24:38
that's my guy. it's a sikkim into a flatten, into a bodhi guard, and then of course you play your vulnerability last. everyone knows that. oblivion? right hand hand. he dies to doom, but we need to not die first. we're not dying. we're not dying. now it got pretty close. we certainly could have done a better job. maybe.
-
25:14
is this a situation where we literally just take hang and then try to get hang out there as quickly as possible? every time you play it, it doubles the damage done. start each combat with four additional energy. four energy on turn one when we've got three souls in our draw pile is very, very tempting. i think it puts us at the mercy of variance a little bit or a lot, but even just to play all the detritus we drew turn one, that kind of felt pretty good.
-
25:59
even that wasn't bad, man. and then we just, if we play our souls, you're dead. our souls plus the soul power equals you die. um, yeah, but i don't think it's gonna go down like that. that was still pretty good. duplicator. would you take haunt? literally, we don't need it. i know it sounds crazy. we don't need it because this is the situation. if we draw it late, we don't like it at all. bone shards and harmony? what's our wind condition? our wind condition is playing hang as fast as possible, which is incentivized by having souls. okay.
-
26:34
i know i made some controversial choices there. you're just gonna have to accept that i'm the guy making the choices and if i mean you could play yourself of course it's a great game i recommend you do. horrific first turn, my lord. we can at least wipe one of his surely oh still takes no it doesn't take two cards huge we do take eight that could be worse that was completely fine.
-
27:19
i don't think there's ever been a time where i've taken a borrowed time and been like, i wish i didn't have this card. broadly at least. huge plays. huge plays. okay. i mean, we'd love to do more damage on turn one. what do you want me to do? all we need, all we need by the way, to make very hot cocoa really pop is to get ice cream, which is, i mean, it's a big ask.
-
27:54
whatever man, give me that. but if we get it, this will look like a genius play even though i know everyone was screaming for the golden compass. you're not even necessarily wrong to do so but i know you were bouncing and moaning on it but you gotta let me play my game man, you gotta let me play my game. what is this? this is even worse. i can't even play the card that i was gonna play. i didn't even look at how much energy, i just assumed i had enough energy. ten damage or seven.
-
28:44
10 is a bigger number than seven, but sometimes 100 is smaller than 80. yeah. severance will be big for drawing. you're going to say, and now that's ridiculous. bigger numbers are always bigger. wrong. 11 donuts is more than 12. it just is because 12 is one dozen and 11 is 11 donuts. i'm going to pay one 25 to remove one because i need to have enough gold to make the shop worthwhile. i would love to remove two, but i just didn't think i had enough gold to make them both work. get that trash out of here.
-
29:36
this literally does not exhaust you might as well do that. we should have played a strength potion. we probably still should play a strength potion. i'll say it, what is his malarkey? i don't say it lightly. i hate this guy. i hate this guy. i hate this guy. we get in on him. put fear on him. put hang on him because we need him to eat dirt later. i think we just go all in man. give me another soul in the draw pile. geez louise. i'm on lethal. that's okay because we're gonna sick him.
-
30:23
free flatten. keep drawing, man. great borrowed time. holy cow. huge unleashed into a borrowed time that gets a kill. it might have gotten a little lucky there. play a debuff. an enemy takes a buff. we don't really debuff. i mean, i don't know if hang is a debuff, but two energy is a little pricey. i don't know what to tell you, bro. i'm not happy with these. maybe joss paper's okay.
-
31:07
because we are going to be exhausting a decent amount of souls. thank you for not being combat. we definitely want aoe. we have some vulnerable. we need aoe. meal ticket is actually huge. we have to rest. heart of iron and fish oil. heart of iron i'll take for sure. gotta fight? gotta fight him. i think you go all in toot suite on this. you're starting with 16 damage. that's a dub for us. i'll hit you and i will drain power.
-
31:51
the souls will help us draw past the daises. what is this garbage? are you trolling me? like, you can't be serious. maybe like a sickum. i'm not gonna play an exterminate against them. we're gonna end up with a billion daises in our deck. literally, i'm not gonna play anything against them. i'm gonna play a severance. and then that allowed us to at least play a soul, now that i think about it. play a spirit of ash, play nothing. there's no reason to play a borrowed time and add 15 daises in our deck for no benefit. hang is necessary.
-
32:33
other than that, it's just dirges and souls, bro. cockles and muscles, ally ally oh. what do we play here? operation don't die. operation draw as fast as possible into hang. draw through first. so the daisies go in the discard pile. hit them. they don't go in the discard pile ever, by the way, but it's never stopped me from making a mistake before. six damage, nine damage.
-
33:13
what are we looking at here? honestly, i feel content. i feel content where we stand. it's something. get him. and then don't draw. don't draw. wait it out. because hang is hang does 30 damage huge. okay, that could that could have gotten a lot worse stone calendar is great if we're stalling. we're not really stalling. i don't think we need to read it gives us a soul. i just don't think it's good enough. another shop huge, huge, huge.
-
33:59
huge. remove another strike. as soon as the deck... we want to draw these souls as early as possible on turn one. this might be a potion we want to keep for the... no, this is a potion we're going to use right now. we're going to start defaulting to heuristics because we've been making mistakes. what do we want to upgrade? we want to upgrade a cleanse and get an ascender's bane out. we want to upgrade an unleash. then you can play drain power to guarantee that's what you upgrade. you don't need to play abor all the time. there's no reason for it. there's no reason for it. soul?
-
34:39
i'm really hoping to draw a soul off of that. i'm gonna level with you so supremely. it looks like that. gotta stay on top of this. sick em, high five em. genuinely in my heart of hearts, i thought we would have enough to at least get this guy killed. but at least we got some extra summons off it. 8 hp, that's not good. we draw, okay. literally doesn't bother me in the slightest. we just do that. totally fine bro. okay, whenever oste loses hp, all enemies lose it as well. i mean, we gotta make a play.
-
35:31
at this stage of our life we have to make a play. it's that simple. no block. no blocks so we just die. cool. cool man. cool. very cool. very cool. well, we still got 30 minutes. we run it back. i mean, i put some blocks in the deck, i think. i think i put some blocks in the deck so that bothers me a little bit. even if i didn't put blocks in the deck, i only removed defense or sorry, i only removed strikes so we should have had enough.
-
36:08
random rare squeeze. oste deals 25, does more damage for each oste attack. literally insNLy good, i think. what do we do? chart a course with lots of combat so we can add as many oste attacks as possible as early as possible. full stop. now i'm gonna have to play fast. it's just the nature of the beast. school pickup is when school pickup is. i don't have any control over that. in an abstract sense i do, but i'm not gonna go through all that. so it's irrelevant. it's neither here nor there. oste attack?
-
36:47
yeah, yeah, i think it's good enough. we're not just going to exclusively add oste attacks. we're going to add a few to start with here because it's very, very helpful. i think at least 35 damage kind of stings a little bit, but i'm not really willing to take seven to the dome and we could just draw the card again instead. hopefully, what did i tell you? certainly a rattle fits nicely here.
-
37:33
maybe keep a defend in your hand just in case but obviously if we draw the right card we're gonna be sitting pretty here holy cow another oste attack and then the whole reason i wanted to come here was to see if they had an oste attack which they don't but i do think it's in our best interest to take a defy even post nerf and then i actually why we probably want to take the
-
38:06
upgrade on that first, but i really want to fight some elites man. each other time he has attacked this turn. had to be done. i'm hoping you're lethal able? lethal able? that's huge. and then taking two to at least get rid of the dude who constricts is like a no brainer. keep a defy in your hand until necessary. like i think we've got a really good elite setup.
-
38:44
imagine fighting those eels but having enough damage to kill them so the six block doesn't even matter but you got to take the up it stings, but you got to take this first and that i mean this is such a tempting path and i can't give up two campfires to fight one elite i can give up one to fight two. i can't give up two to fight one my god. it feels amazing well, sorry, we'll just draw it again now i wish we could start with like
-
39:26
we can start with three souls in our draw pile. that'd be kind of amazing. we're drawing it like exactly, perfectly every time. this is so crazy. i don't think any of these do it for us, man. we have one ethereal card. i'm not really sweating that. more damage. i mean, we're gonna play defy often. it sucks that it's only a three block upgrade. that might be stupid to do actually. and now i'm here and i'm like, now what am i gonna upgrade, man? all these cards freaking suck.
-
39:59
i'll take 50 gold which will actually be more than 50 gold because we're wearing a hat. you ever think about that? i'm not using an energy potion to do like 22% more damage on that. it's just not gonna happen. we'll stall you until we draw squeeze again. like this is big. do we really care to add a rattle back? taking no damage would be awesome. how much damage does squeeze do? 54? i'm going all in.
-
40:52
this might give us a win though, even if we don't get squeeze on the next turn. which we did, but still. 10 skills equals 7 block. not really built for that. i think there's a case to be made to put a soul in the deck. nimble 2. you know what? 11 block one week. it's something. it's something. okay. well, i mean, i love that. that's awesome.
-
41:32
then we just kill you so it doesn't really get much better than that. you know every mask crazy that's awesome. and then this guy we got to hit this guy 3,000 times so that does suck but once we get through it, we only got to hit him with squeeze a couple of times snap store defend play unleash rattle is at least pretty effective at getting through slippery great turn for defy honestly, i'm gonna say something controversial
-
42:07
i was gonna say you don't play your souls because you don't want to draw squeeze yet, but we needed to draw more attacks to get through slippery to make squeeze effective anyway. i lived buddy. i played the one with retain. no, i didn't play the one with retain. i'm actually a genius accidentally. okay, we need squeeze. no squeeze. save anything that blocks. we're still gonna die. 10 damage. 10 damage is nothing. but how are you gonna save your life? you need defy.
-
42:52
but you need it next turn. you don't need it this turn. there is, i mean, that's something, but what are you gonna do, man? you need to draw a defy again, which i don't think can be done. yeah, it's 32 damage, man. i mean, i can hit you for 54. we can go down swinging. all right, now we're getting into dangerous time, okay, because we have 23 minutes left. but i have to try, because again, i love playing slay the spire, so i would be happy to.
-
43:30
am i being salty if i say i think we beat almost any other boss there? act 1 boss drops 2 relics, baby. what do we care about 2 relics? i don't even like getting 2 relics like right off the bat. summon 20 exa oh it's the scythe. it's the scythe right off the bat. okay, and then you just play it as quickly as possible. play it every single turn you're gonna play it. boom. the scythe. and then we need the enchantment. i mean we're thinking way long term here. we need the enchantment to make sure that it doesn't exhaust. and then you win. then you just run it straight up mid.
-
44:07
speaking of mid, let's not take damage this time. come on, man. come on. come on. come on. play faster. play faster. give me more of the scythe. give me another scythe. we don't need borrowed time yet. we need flatten. we need to be able to do more damage. what the heck? now i gotta play scythe as a little tiny guy for 11 damage? whatever. whatever. you're in a world of hurt. look at that. is it a poke situation? yeah, i think it's a poke situation. we build oste attack. what do you got for me, fella? it's so crazy that sometimes this
