gamers, what a run on that last one. what a run. i'm embarrassed how proud of myself i am. we run it back on ascension 8 with the necrobinder, man. all enemies are tougher to kill. there's no shot. i'm sorry, i'm not raising my max hp by 11. with removal being so expensive, you can catch me being a little reckless. you can catch me being a little reckless. can i strike you with something insane? dump two strikes.
-
0:30
now why on earth would an individual like me ever do this? build up a big oasty early to kill enemies. we're relying on like a single turn unleash like finishing the job or drawing it twice. i'm not saying this is going to work by the way, this could be an absolutely terrible decision but 24 damage you have 31. i could do 24 plus 6 for trolling. it's all right we draw it again on the next pass. mogged.
-
1:08
well, steve deals 12 damage, cost zero if he's already attacked this turn. love it, man. love it. toss it in there. whenever you play a card that costs two or more, return this to your hand from the discard pile. i actually think i'm gonna go insane. i'm gonna cut a defend and run a nine card deck early. and it is quite unusual. and i'm not sure it's even any good. but it might be good, i don't know.
-
1:49
i mean we had 45 cards on the last run so i hope you'll at least just forgive me this opportunity that i have that only does 11. oh no, we still kill you. to run a little bit of a thinner deck. oste does seven and retain. i can live with this. another enabler for enfeeble or whatever that card is called. 320 gold and greed. i'm gonna pass on that one. give me 58 gold risk free bro. i take two and 20 any day of the week. see this is where things kind of suck.
-
2:26
add retain to a strike, because you're going to play unleashed on this turn. because there's no way to prevent yourself from taking damage anyway. we really need a good summon card. a good summon card would pop this off. i can do 12, 7, 12. that's enough. i do have to say, two weak, two vulnerable for free once still strikes me as being pretty darn good. absolutely horrible first turn. they must be trolling. all right, we're going to use this guy as an hp battery for sure. get putrefied.
-
3:09
get dumped on. you're only doing one damage? that's absolutely fantastic for us. that made the sound of like a lemming dying. did you hear that? it went, oh! keep it defend in your hand. play a flatten. play this. you take six. no, no, no. you take one. we need to keep you in a position for unleash to go crazy. unleash does 23. yeah, i guess in the whole scheme of things killing the last enemy remaining can be pretty good. start of your turn apply six doom to a random enemy. i literally pass. i'm sorry.
-
3:44
that's not what our build is built for. you get weakened, it's snapped upon. i mean, i think you could forgive me for being a little bit upset that we didn't draw like a single defend when our deck is half defense. i think we live in a world where it's justifiable to be upset by that. and a fellow like me is gonna have to rest instead of what is truly speaking to me spiritually, which is upgrading our highest rarity card. 667 to 19 damage, bro.
-
4:33
776, that's 20 damage bro, you don't get there. i don't have enough energy to retain? oh, it's already retained. really don't want to rest, man. summon 6 exhaust? i do think we need it. i wouldn't worry about resting now that i think about it. not an ideal first turn. i think i'm going to go crazy. i'm going to duplicate this afterlife, play a bodyguard, and then throw a crazy unleashed on the track.
-
5:19
22 damage, you're trolling. 16 damage, we still get hit and our unleash gets ruined. what a sick joke, man. i used a duplicate potion for that. that means something to me. literally, we have to stall. it's better to stall and then have a better turn, although you were vulnerable, which we might not get another crack at. but you know what? this is literally better. and then we get one more turn to pop off. draw the same cards you just played. i don't think we're going to die, but i think we might be dead. oh my god, we made it. okay.
-
6:02
we sure again could go insane with this build, but your strength doesn't buff oste, man. oh, brother. friendship is good because oste, the same way he doesn't get improved by strength, he doesn't get debuffed by a lack of strength. we're playing with fire on this one, by the way. don't get me wrong.
-
6:33
i will literally upgrade a random card. i didn't even read the other one. i don't care. i have to rest to stay alive. this run strikes me as a run where we're definitely going to lose. but i think the bright side of it is that we'll probably lose on the first floor. losing faster is good, yes. i know it was confusing at first. i can't disagree with you. but if that one extra energy per turn now puts us... i think i might have said the word return like 10 times or per turn 10 times. if it puts us in a position where we can
-
7:15
now, tilt the scale in our favor enough to keep oste alive and build his hp. this will literally work for us. i mean, obviously this won't work for us because you're doing way too much damage, but use a potion, hopefully get a potion. we could have, by the way, a more intelligent player of slay the spire probably, well, probably would have played maybe vulnerable on you before hitting you with a heavy attack. is that what i want to do? no, because i want to do this.
-
7:53
and not even play the putrefy, which is crazy. but at least this leaves oste alive. we literally stall you even further. anyway, long story short, if we can build into him so he can get a lot of damage and then get like maybe a rare that sorts this situation out for us, we'd be thrilled, man, is what i'm trying to say, okay? that's all i'm trying to say. you're not dead! well, i kill you next turn, but still, like it's the... it's the principle of the thing. power potion. poke berry.
-
8:29
barry will still be good even with the minus strength. that might have put us in a more interesting position. i'm gonna rest because i want to make it through the first floor if possible, but okay. we take a power potion summon five whenever oste loses hp. he loses that much as well. literally it says summon five. that's yeah okay summon five hopefully haves in seven.
-
8:59
see what i... but the thing is, by the time this video goes up, the series will be over. so i just... right now they're up 3 2. they won last night's game, so they went up 3 2. definitely this. the fella's gonna live. that's all you could ask for. the fella's still gonna live. let's keep his hp as high as possible, man. we can play beckons. one day... i was gonna say, one day we're gonna draw friendship and then we can really play beckons. heck of a turn, man. there's gotta be a power that makes you get summoned like two every turn or something.
-
9:42
not a great turn for intangible, obviously. let's snap and retain barry. he's still doing alright. what would you play on this turn? i mean, i don't mind losing 6 hp to hit you for 50. that seems like a very solid trade. this one, not as much. i think we... i think we sac our hp a little bit to go in on you. we take advantage, we make hay while the sun's up. easiest turn of my life.
-
10:36
not even that bad, honestly. i'm very glad we rested though. without resting this was obviously a much worse position for us. do we play a lot of ethereal cards? okay, summon 20 might just be necessary. even though it is so expensive. the scythe is also interesting. but i will probably try to avoid combat. we literally have none ethereal cards. i've never taken reanimate, so this is a new era for a guy like me.
-
11:13
unleash becomes protector. deals additional damage equal to oste's max hp. sure, man. i mean, i'm not taking those cards anyway, so give me the full art card. i think it's time for the walk of the coward. the coward's walk. it's really hard for me to not just play this. we take no damage. what are you stealing from us? there's a world in which you taking a putrefy ain't even that bad for a guy like me.
-
11:56
because we do damage based on oste's max hp, keeping you alive has never been like more important or more impossible i think. wait, i can literally, literally keep you alive with one hp, but if we draw unleashed we get the bonus damage. we didn't, but the fella's back. the fella's back. you have to play that. we literally got there. um, i mean our deck is pretty thin. definitely we love drawing. oh, but another...
-
12:35
their life. draw your cards, draw your card. you know, i'm, that's, it just is, it's sexy to let him steal a card. it is. i had to give him a chance, man. here's an interesting idea. save the reanimate. play it on a less important turn. i mean, this is a really important turn. i would have loved to have played friendship to set up like barry next turn, but that's a really important turn.
-
13:10
go fetch. definitely. okay. like if this is your first time seeing slay the spire, you might be asking yourself a question like, isn't it good to play vulnerable before you play your best attacks? yeah. yeah, yeah, it is. definitely is. summon three and exhaust the card from the draw pile. could be persuaded on that. why? because it's rare or uncommon at least. aoe please. i mean, i think i'd rather draw. i don't know who goes first on this one. teutrify on you does seem crazy.
-
13:54
this does 11 damage, so obviously we can do better. i need to hit you three times with two energy. things that will not happen. i'm also not going to get to 16 block. simply not going to come to pass. so do we care about summoning? yeah, because summoning is block. it makes sense, man. plus we never have to think about a sender's bane. summon 9 is still good. it completely nullifies you for one card. that's your play. these guys are going to be annoying though. i'm happy i have thorns!
-
14:54
let's start with the positives. having thorn seems like it's incredible here. protector, i mean it does 9 damage. reanimate puts up a lot of block, man. and then this still just does 9 damage. like i'll demonstrate it for you in case you don't believe me but... i mean you're doing 29 damage, i got 26 block on the field. that doesn't seem that bad for me. this one kind of stinks but i think you gotta take 10 damage off the field finally.
-
15:32
and then put up as much block as possible, which is literally that. it's becoming clear to me having some form of aoe, even if it's not synergistic with what we're trying to build, would probably be pretty effective. retain a... i don't know, retain a berry? i don't know if we're ever gonna play it, but it's the thought that counts. i'm kinda getting fed here for sure. not in like a cool way, like from a moba. in a bad way, like they're feeding me
-
16:13
like haymakers, like rights and lefts. but we made it through and we only used one potion which is, i mean, faint praise but any form of aoe. you know what? two friendships actually seems appropriate. we have a lot of expensive cards. get weakened and then get your max hp as high as possible. i still think we're a little off from this run like 100% working out for us.
-
16:58
we have created a very large lad though, i don't think anyone could dispute that. and i mean 48 damage for one, a lot better than 50 for zero, or 50 for four i should say. but we could also play barry whenever we have to play barry. does do 49 damage. it's really hard to not just do that, even though we could have obviously buffed you further. and it may prove to have been the right decision, i guess not at all, because protector's gonna ruin you, man.
-
17:32
we don't draw ethereal cards. i do think eight block and a soul could be the kind of thing that's okay to add. oste deals 11 damage and applies two vulnerable to all enemies. you know what? good for oste. good for me. i'm still cutting strikes. next turn summon two, gain two energy. i think it works perfectly. i think it gives us a nice energy battery. so i would like to acknowledge something. if oste dies four turns into the boss fight, we might as well just throw our computer out the window.
-
18:13
get rid of a single defend. because we will have no means to rebuild it, i think. obviously, too vulnerable to all enemies, pretty good. reanimate, obviously pretty important as well. high five does let you play flatten for free. but then you're just killing one of them. so like who really cares? i think this fight could ruin my life. i think you have to take a power potion here. this could literally change the game for us.
-
18:55
this oste losing hp does damage to you as well. so at least we're not getting nothing for nothing. we're getting something for nothing. get snapped on. always retain a berry. that seems very sensible. and then is it an invoke or a friendship? i think you always like the energy, man. see, look at the aoe. that's our aoe. the fella's the aoe. wait, this is actually awesome? and then this does 49 damage. you're dead. we need that card in our deck.
-
19:33
we need the real version of that card in our deck. we don't need a second barrier. we can barely play the first one. centennial puzzle, good to draw the cards you need to play. more aoe, truly devastating. never have to see a sender's bane. 11 damage too vulnerable? nah, you got a summon. sorry, the vulnerability is one thing, but it's going to be a longer fight than that, unfortunately. fat sean him, flatten on him. summon literally keeps you alive.
-
20:12
we have nothing to ice you with, which is unbelievable. you will live though. we need that friendship, man. okay, 13 damage. we need it. we need to never see... i mean, i like all these cards. maybe bodyguard isn't good enough anymore. protector does 54 damage. and then still try to keep his hp high because we're not playing a basic strike at this stage of our life. 16 damage. honestly, brother,
-
20:56
i'm giving you a turn. was that wrong? 12 damage. i'm chilling on 12 damage, man. i'm not sweating that in the slightest. wait, this is actually fine? or at least i thought it was gonna be much worse. there's something to be said for us so to be honest with you, but i think we're fine. well, i'm not gonna rest for 10. if we're gonna die, we're gonna die, okay? we'll fight here first and then see if we have the hp to fight an elite. not gonna get to 15 block.
-
21:56
18 damage, 15 damage, but then you're still taking a heck of a hit. i think we're gonna get you low and then play one of those, unfortunately. this is why we fought the elite. we have the option for the elite second instead of first. 16 damage. crazy play. let's also exhaust basic strike. takes us to 21 damage. one energy remains. i'd love to have the extra energy.
-
22:28
but this literally keeps oste alive with growing maximum hp. that's important for us. you're not doing anything, which is also awesome. okay, now draw your big cards. now we draw our big cards. we didn't draw our big card. you have a lot of hp though, which is, in my opinion, a positive. two friendship and an invoke, i'm afraid. definitely want to keep you alive. don't think it's going to happen. don't think it's going to happen.
-
23:14
just based on what we got here, i've exhausted one of my best cards. you are staying alive with 2 hp, so i think that was the right play, although we definitely should not have exhausted one of our best cards. i think that's fairly obvious, a little self explanatory. this time you're going to die. that's okay, because i'm going to get a berry and i'm going to kill you. that wasn't that bad. i think we owe it to the squad to try to fight at least one elite. how about a fetch?
-
24:03
cleanse on an ascender's bane. like turn one, cleanse, i don't mind. i think it's a good turn for an energy potion just so you can like actually play your cards. i mean, oste's in a lot of trouble, don't get me wrong, but we did something. that's interesting to me because i feel like reanimate is like not that valuable here. summon for 25. they're doing 24 damage. wait, do we draw protector next turn?
-
24:40
you know what? i think you accept that life is pain and you make sure you get a friendship out there so you can win the fight at some point. we have nine hp. so this is when i guess you would want to win the fight. but instead i think we're just dead because there's nothing i can do. well, that basically sucked.
-
25:15
at 25 minutes, it's a little tough. i'm going to play the fastest run of slay the spire 2 of all time. that's why i prefer to lose on the first boss and then win after that, because this is going to be... we're going to be flying by the seat of our pants. let's put it that way. literally exactly the same play. cut two strikes. that doesn't mean we're going to run the same build. that hinges entirely on what our first card reward is. but it is looking very reminiscent right now. comes back with one hp next turn anyway. i like the way this looks a little bit better.
-
25:52
mogged. i can't kill you next turn. 20 damage. 20 damage with default deck. not gonna happen. 15 damage with default deck. it's built in. i don't know, man. what do you think about the possibility of a high blocking doom build? splash is literally too good not to take. forget that doom that we just got. splash is too good to avoid. 30 damage. 5 damage twice or 6 damage draw.
-
26:32
30 damage, kind of unstoppable early, man. and always playing your summon over a defend. wait, wait, wait, wait. you're dead by a number of different paths. namely the one where we get an attack that we play for free. and it's an attack that does more than three damage. 13 block. five damage for each ethereal. ten damage vulnerable and weak are twice as effective.
-
27:08
i can't believe i'm skipping on commons early, but i just... i don't know if we have the envelope with which to put them in something relevant. the only thing you need to know about doom, because it's going to screw up your mental arithmetic a little bit, what you need to know about doom is that it goes at the end of the turn and only if it's higher than their hp. so it kills them, but it is not a poison situation where it does damage no matter what and it happens before they take their turn.
-
27:47
huge. it's a, uh... well, it's a different ballgame altogether. you're stunned, which is devastating news for you. it only works if it's lethal, but then it guaranteed kills. maybe that's a better way to describe it. i don't think i can kill you. i can definitely put you in a situation where only oste's taking damage. and obviously, like, splash needs the upgrade, man. i think we take nothing. i think we're building towards, like, an insNLy defensive deck.
-
28:24
we could apply 6 doom to a random enemy every turn. you know what? let's give it a shot. it's like a pseudo doom build. i think we need tons of upgrades. no matter what, you upgrade splash. even though it's not gonna be part of our doom win condition. at the end of the... at the start of your turn... okay, you have some doom on you. this does 13 damage. we gotta send it out there.
-
29:02
oste at some point is gonna have to take a hit. wrong card. 32 damage if it kills an enemy, gain three energy. and now you're gonna have 19 doom on you. you know what? this is kind of exciting. we've never really run a doom build. certainly not a successful one, although there's no guarantee that that's gonna change here. drawing cards is kind of op, especially if you got the energy to play with them or play them.
-
29:44
five cards equals you get 20 hp. this is a rest fight and then hopefully submit the situation, i think. but actually, now that we've got sword of stone, maybe we want to try to fight some elites. let me see if we can get something that accelerates on this turn. in six block, if you apply doom, get more block. and this is going to be really good. i think we can be patient with that. it doesn't do anything for us right now. but when we play our power that puts doom on them,
-
30:15
it'll be a different story. so we need to play this. we want to play this. i don't want the enemy to gain any strength, obviously. and then yeah, sure, five block and some doom. so now death's door is gonna trigger every single time, i believe. and by every single time, i mean the next one time we play it. and it was great for us, if i may say so.
-
30:46
surely you can die to doom in one turn. but we got to play it twice, man! okay, so doom counters that guy. summon 15, kind of interesting. it's just not our tempo, man. i'm being honest with you, it's not our tempo. 9 doom definitely seems better. the boss is the fish.
-
31:21
i mean more of that card seems good. and then mummified hand, which again i should as always add, i'm not even sure is in the game. let's try it out man. i mean thrash could go kind of crazy. we just need oste to take the damage for us. that doesn't really bother me. he's literally gonna do it again. and then we just need you to, we just need to put up block. in doing so,
-
31:56
in all likelihood you put yourself in a position where you're already dead. wait, the run is literally working and what's best i can play it quick so that i'm not late to pick up my kid from school which makes everybody in the family unhappy and the school really really unhappy but i'm kind of vice signaling because this literally never happened because i think that if i did it like the consequences in my head are so high that it would literally never happen but
-
32:21
but i'm imagining it would be a negative experience. let's put it that way. that's big. in reality, they would probably be like, it's okay, things happen, but don't let it happen again. but i just don't want to cross that bridge. this is literally better than getting two ships. and then... i'm not saying doom is overpowered, but i've been using it for five seconds and i think i will never take anything else. and i think we have such good block
-
33:05
to me, this strikes me as a great opportunity to just keep it rolling, bro. keep it rolling. and you know what? i'm gonna use a little bone brew just to build up a bigger battery here. scourge. beautiful. all i wanted was to not draw splash. now i do want splash. and we want a really good card. literally the best card for us here is backstab. it does damage and then exhausts itself so it doesn't make our deck, like, asynergistic. we've applied even more doom to you.
-
33:50
i kind of hate this. you know what? it exhausts, so we don't care. and we apply even more doom to you. it's good that we're dealing with the beckons as they appear too. there is a card for sure that does as much damage to an enemy as their doom is on them. pommel could be big. i mean, it's free, so we play it. that to me would be like the only attack that i'm really interested in adding to my deck.
-
34:34
obviously this is horrible. we're kind of in a race. two beckons. i think you literally just take 15 damage off the field and then you do what needs to be done, let's put it that way. next skill you play costs zero. actually huge for a guy like me who wants to play two beckons and some defense. you're not attacking this turn. this would be a beautiful turn on which to raise your doom high enough to kill you. to me this is cinema. now a doom enabling card. lose two strength, enemy loses two strength exhaust.
-
35:16
transfigure on our doom power is interesting too. i think shared fate is fine though. we make the enemy weak, we get weak, we don't care because we killed him with doom. i mean, can i level with you man? we got such a thin deck. i feel like upgrading six random cards is okay. what didn't get upgraded? just parse, okay. you know the fringe benefit of this that maybe actually isn't even a benefit? we have no problem
-
35:53
resting at a campfire if all of our cards are upgraded. so what we get out of our own way mentally at least, need to apply 16 doom to you. need to hit you with a crazy attack here. literally might be better to hit you with the weakened vulnerable, put you in a position next turn, we might be able to break that shield or at least put up enough block. how about another splash, man? heirloom hammer? yeah, yeah, we can live with that. stuns you for a turn.
-
36:35
this is a high risk way to play because we again we do like no damage but can i put up seven block? surely i can put up seven block. six will do. it's a high risk way to play because we do no damage but it's also it's doing some interesting work for sure. start each elite combat with two strength. i think we literally do not care. i don't necessarily think i mean you know maybe i do like the idea of removing
-
37:11
a basic strike because we don't actually wanna attack. i thought about the flower, like i think the flower is a pretty good relic but we're also fairly weak to aoe i think because our, our, that card, the doompulsor whatever does apply huge. for once in my life i'm not gonna play splash. but it does apply doom to everybody but otherwise our power applies it at random which could, you could, you could foresee a situation in which that goes terribly wrong but
-
37:51
am i the only person who's kind of stunned by how unbelievably well this doom build is holding up right now? just please don't be the door maker because i have to play my cards. obviously, we don't need a blessing of the forge. eight damage applied doom equal to damage dealt. not good enough to me. i would rather apply eight doom and do zero damage. you are obviously a nightmare! splash, brother. i mean, literally that's two block so i can live with that.
-
38:29
i was hoping parse would give us our power and it did. okay, we block. that's what this deck does. but the good news is by blocking we're not going to put any daises into our deck. so there is something to like, man. we literally don't have to splash. you don't have to do it. don't let them trick you into thinking you have to play it. you just almost always want to play it. you don't have to play it. i didn't realize that this guy doesn't get stronger. he's actually, if i may say so, he's kind of a little baby.
-
39:16
he's kind of, he's not all that, i was so scared of this guy. he doesn't actually do anything. his attacks don't do anything, man. and he's dead. you're not an elite though. maybe that's why you're not an elite because you die so easily like that. i'm literally taking the question mark pass because i'm still scared. enchant a card with perfect fit or remove two cards add normality. if we had a guaranteed shop, i would love to. but wait, we don't play more than three cards, man. we can remove two cards.
-
39:57
we never play more than three cards as of right now. that... trust me, it's very scary for me to willfully add a normality to my deck, but i just... i don't see how it couldn't be the right play. i'm blocked by normality. can i say something? that's really funny. if you don't think that's humorous, then i... you know, you've got a problem with humor.
-
40:36
i literally applied doom. i drink it, i know things. okay, well i applied doom and i block things. how does that make you feel? literally we're not taking damage, so why would i care? if i'm not taking damage, why would i care? now i still want to remove normality. like i'm not an idiot, believe it or not. most of the time at least. but i just don't think it's super urgent. i mean these cards, they don't work man. you know why they don't work? they don't say d o o m.
-
41:12
cure all energy draw 2. i don't care about thorns or retain to be honest. i might retain normality just to flex on him. pen nib is a really funny relic to get here though. i will... honestly our deck is like so upgraded. i will literally just take the gold, lose hp and then rest because our deck is upgraded man. what am i going to do? upgrade normality? is that me? espresso?
-
41:45
i'm skipping man. i don't want to i don't want a debris in my hand. i'm sorry i'm not gonna take something just to take it. i'm working late because i'm a singer okay? i give a hmm depending on whether i'm listening to it on my own or in the car with my kid is on vacation. it's a heck of a song for sure. i would love to weaken invulnerable you that's big. i've got to be honest. i owe a sincere apology to to doom
-
42:24
not doctor doom, because i hear he's a bad guy, but i don't know anything about the movie or the comics. so just relax on me right now, okay? i just literally don't know. but, um... it doesn't matter. doom the mechanic, i thought it was garbage and actually it's doing incredible work. that's not to say we couldn't improve upon it a little bit, but wait, this might cause us some issue.

that's nice though. and then, oh, but i want to play it. i guess i should have paid attention to the curse i put into my deck. wait, dying star, insane here, man. i literally thought they were all dying to do them, but whatever. you're doing 12. i think this might be a curious situation. guys, we drew normality. it's not what you want to see, but definitely something that obviously nobody could have predicted. that's the card we want to see right there.

and then splashing on something that literally just gets a kill is fine by me. he's doing a lot of damage this turn. wait, wait, wait, wait, wait. it's not gonna kill any enemies though. in that case, i'm just going to play, but it kills them in a turn. like it kills them a turn faster, i should say. whatever we're resting regardless, what do we care? it's literally like the first time we've taken damage in an hour and a half. you're probably done.

okay, we got plenty of time. i can get through a boss and a whole act in in what eight minutes? easily easily and wait this guy is a perfect doom target. he's a single target enemy bro. take 33 doom and some doom. here's some doom for you. how about a little extra? i mean kingly punch has a certain journey say quad but it makes it slower for us to draw doom. i will take six damage per turn.

i think i can absorb that and feel okay about it. have some doom. we're not gonna parse this time. totally fine. i'm happy with the doom. i'll still splash on you just to see what we get. that's a skip in this household. and then two of those. like to see the doom going up a little bit faster. no normality. huge. okay, we may now be at the point where we have to take less draw. you cannot play more than three cards per turn. bro, i literally have that in my deck already. you ain't special. everything is literally fine.

or at least it's not as bad as it looks, probably. you're at 222, negative pulse, apply the doom, draw a normality. i mean, drawing normality is priced in at this point. you're gonna debuff me again. nobody knows what it does, so that doesn't matter. we want to gain one less energy per turn. only gotta go a couple turns, lad. uh oh, uh oh.
