gamers welcome back. um, we random we read. oh gonna be a bride bride sunshiny day ship silent day she's got eyes. sorry. i know people hate this singing but i like to do it. oh
-
0:19
and cuz i'm the guy, the incentive is more weighted in like one direction. well, there's competing incentives. i guess we don't need to get too crazy about it. either way, i'm happy and silver crucible as well. i mean, like it's something great skies are gonna clear up put on a happy face is what i'm trying to say. two of these and one of those. sledge spinner, your days are numbered, okay? horrible cuz i know now we're gonna draw, i was gonna say a hand of basically just the tax.
-
0:49
but we only take one damage. i'm 100% committed to structuring my entire run around our first card reward. no, i'm not. because i don't think sly is good enough or it's untouchables good enough to commit to sly necessarily. but skewer early gives us a little bit of motion to work with for sure. you get weak. no, this takes off two damage. this takes off three, i think. and then you know we're gonna draw skewer.
-
1:26
so if we're going to draw a skewer on one of the next two turns, we leave you at full hp so we could kill you easily. we take you as low as possible, submit to taking one damage, but then we play a skewer against you. i still would. and then you die to a strike next turn. that's thinking like six turns ahead, okay? well laid plans is insNLy good and i think we can afford to not take damage knowing we have a skewer in the hand already.
-
2:04
there's something to it, man. i'm not gonna deny there's something to it. there is something about a fist of cups as well though. noxious is interesting too. i think noxious is like kind of a giga brain card but not in a bad way. an upgraded attack? did this really take silver crucible as well? that's so cruel, man. let's get sucker punch to easily apply weakness. there are payoff cards for this. there's like... don't give me dreamcatcher, man. noxious?
-
2:47
weak enemies take double damage from attacks is kind of huge. am i crazy to think that noxious is better on these wide enemies? i might be crazy, i might be wrong. but i just thought weak enemies take double damage. yes, we can make them weak, but as soon as we make them weak, the only way we make them weak is via an attack and then they put up a shield. so we don't really want to hit them right after that. give me a defend and then a double skewer here for a kill.
-
3:26
i love well laid plans, but i mean, we gotta make some tough choices in this economy here. make you do no damage, play one of these. we're actually getting really good value out of our energy right now. we're able to not spend all of our energy getting full block, which is awesome. vista cuffs takes us to seven block.
-
3:50
weaken you, you're doing seven attack. i think we should strike you and then you're going to be very lethalable next turn. and this fight actually went beautifully, to be honest. and part of the reason it went beautifully was because of the noxious fumes giving us just enough. not really in love with any of these, but a backflip is okay and it draws. i mean that's sort of stone. i think we're going to fight an elite right off the bat here.
-
4:21
two strikes upgraded, that's peak. can i say something? i feel like well laid plans is kind of awesome against you, right? it seems like it would be, because there's many turns where we're like, well, we don't really need this card because, choose the cards, of course. i only took one last time. for example, we probably don't care about playing a skewer on this turn, but to be able to hold it in our hands, it means something to a guy like me.
-
4:58
we probably save it, isn't there a turn where you don't attack? that was stupid, i cost myself some block on that one. that's fine, give me these anyway. there's a turn where you do a little attack and you buff. maybe we've already passed it. maybe we'll make it out of this one without ever playing our best card. obviously we need to hit you one more time cuz we need to kill you next time with our skewer that we should have played instead of a strike obviously. wait, no, this was good. it was good to save it for here cuz we got enough.
-
5:35
and we did that with no potions, which is really good. i think you would simmer on that, right? fair enough. can't really be too mad about that. can be a little bit mad about the question mark on this one. this the cuffs goes crazy on you. next turn, a block and a strike kills you and we can get to work on you with our other strike. would have loved to have had a better card. this is actually, it feels like it's working out really well right now.
-
6:10
i'll take six damage to not use an energy potion. an energy potion is too valuable to just be throwing away for a little bit of damage. i'm just being honest, those aren't what we need either. let's go freaking crazy, man. double weakness, very good. you, weakness should body you.
-
6:44
i thought i was, for some reason i thought well laid plans was just like in our deck or in our hand by default, which would be awesome. it would be like unbelievably good but it's not the case. you're doing six damage. any dude drawing fisticuffs, the value you get out of fisticuffs is so crazy. it's like an iron wave if iron wave was actually good. next term we're probably all in right?
-
7:14
i think we've been doing amazing here. a footwork is exactly what i was looking for and then i'm hoping the shop just gives us something that puts us over the line. i do think a seeker strike is kind of valuable to be able to either grab like a fist of cuffs or a skewer or something like that. i honestly think and we're getting a little risky here but take the spiral on the defend and then rest. we don't really have like a ton of damage.
-
7:53
that's undeniable. we played well laid plans. this is huge. what do we want? give me a footwork next time and your turn keep footwork and fisticuffs it i didn't expect it to actually work. save the skewer for a turn in which you can give it its due day on the catwalk probably a turn in which you're not weak. we're doing no damage to you, which is something that's definitely going to have to change. okay, you're taking a turn off. we're not weak. this is our turn, bro. i do think i'm
-
8:41
it will be reasonably easy to make you weak on the turn in which you explode. but we need our hp to be high for that to be enough for us. obviously, you need that. oh, there's nothing in our draw pile. i mean, it's still our... sadly speaking, it's our best attack, but... hey, do you take a turn off? not quite yet. just put some garbage in my hand, see if i care. i think taking three damage to hit you is gonna be one of those decisions we're gonna have to start to make.
-
9:20
this next turn we want to see skewer. no, we don't because we are weak. keep your weak. play one of those, dump one of these. obviously keep two cards. come on, man. come on. this is the turn in which we want to hit you. and then i was going to say somehow drawing into skewer like really, really quickly would be awesome here. you're doing enough to kill me now, but i do also put up a lot of block. we should hit you.
-
10:05
and then next turn, i'm almost like pot committed. i'm like next turn i feel like i sort of have to kill you. which i don't think can happen. i really wanna, i'm starting to think about our end game situation here. man, anoxious fumes would have been so perfect for what we got going on. i actually think this is what we want. okay, so you play that. oh my god, it doesn't kill you. because we're weak. this is okay, we wanna, it's still okay. what we wanna do is nothing in the draw pile, very important. kill you.
-
10:52
end your turn. i think we want... we want to keep this defend. that's a given. we need to be able to make you weak. and i think sucker punch can do it. seeker strike could get there, but a sucker punch will take like 30 damage off the board. you're doing 42? so we literally live. wasn't necessarily pretty, but i think honestly that's okay. now we need something that progressively does damage.
-
11:23
i mean 10 damage to all enemies repeat this for every enemy killed it would be awesome but we need something that kills bosses bro. we needed tracking essentially tracking is like it's our card but having some form of aoe is helpful two extra cards for three turns obviously great but am i insane to think that we need to we need to build something in this like we need to find a way to get to a card that can get a kill i think we have to do this
-
12:01
okay, you hold abrasive until you're able to discard it. backstab for initial damage. we can't really calculate a gamble so nicely just to get to what you're looking for. but some initial damage would go crazy. and the noxious, i mean we... okay, i think that we're fine. actually having another discard engine would be nice, but that was a atypical play for me. so let's see how this goes.
-
12:36
sweet upgraded defendant strike man, nice. that's awesome. that's freaking cool. lot to like though, lot to like. we've changed our deck drastically in a very small amount of time. now if we're being honest, we know like echoing slash is gonna do very little. i wouldn't say no, actually it does nine to both enemies. i guess you could do worse than that. you don't die, which is irritating.
-
13:24
yeah, we'll hold that. i mean, this is the play. we're basically creating a part of a discard deck from base principles. but what do you got man? nothing that matters. let's put it that way. could be worse. i'm gonna simmer on that. i don't think two backstabs cuz it's just too many innate cards. see what you get? an abrasive that we can actually play one decks. we want the upgrade on that for sure. wait, this is a huge turn.
-
14:14
and now it's like the point of the deck is essentially just putting up as much block as we can and then letting enemies die to poison or to just hitting us. oh man, no. all right, in that case, we take another footwork and we, i don't know, we try to outlast them, okay? little max hp never hurt anybody. give me a random zero cost card, gain two decks this turn.
-
14:50
if there was ever a deck in which it made sense, this would be one of them, i think. kinda took a flyer on that one, that's okay. keep him weak as long as possible. that might have been the worst turn we could have played there. my god, it's defends and strikes, dude. defends and strikes! i'm trying not to be negative about this, but i don't know if i see a way that we get out of this. obviously, we want this, but we would rather draw into it on the next turn. this is fine.
-
15:48
we take one damage, prepared lets us play abrasive. you die to this, play two of these. i mean holding a skewer is probably a more realistic way to get a kill here. but i'm also thinking, you know, if we can just put up enough block, which we freaking can, you will take damage against me. we need an adrenaline too. an adrenaline would really, really start to tie this deck together.
-
16:25
but for now, this is the way, man. this is the way. play one of these, play one of these, play one of these. it's all about just tipping the scales. i didn't even keep any cards that time. it's all about just tipping the scales in our favor until eventually we land our kill shot. and those are not the way. we need to rest. you don't get extra decks. okay, actually, that's good to know. i mean, we need what we need. slide that applies poison to all enemies.
-
17:14
i can't help but feel like we're kind of backing into a slide deck, but that it might not be set up in an appropriate way. we might not have enough discard engines or enough slide cards. and also, the secondary aspect of this that sucks a lot is that we already have 31 cards in the deck.
-
17:47
so it'll be hard for us to add cards in a way that meaningfully allows us to draw them as quickly as we would like to get our win conditions to work. but i could be wrong. we would like to put up some block. we should have played the decks upgrade first. that's a given. and abrasive is a huge card here. i'm just, without being too greedy, i'm hoping we can get it out there for free. two damage four times to all enemies is like a slap in the face.
-
18:24
that's because gotta be like this and what we're blocking 27 they're doing 27 that's perfect and they're all getting low on hp at the same time you dump an abrasive and then this is what i was dreaming of man echoing slash will not get the kill by herself but but it'll it'll put no it won't even put you in lethal range which is disgusting
-
18:53
next turn, next turn it'll go crazy assuming we're alive for there to be a next turn. and we will be huge. probably want powdered demise. dude, i don't know maybe we could get ourselves out of this mess. we do have to live through these guys first though. i mean, wait a second. wait a second. at least being able to purge your artifacts here is some no we obviously die man.
-
19:32
there's nothing that allows you to live here. okay, i'm gonna throw in a pause. i'll be right back to do another episode in this episode or another run in this episode. we can do this. gamers, we have returned and ready to party. ready to party. here we go. what happened on the last run? i honestly think that things went wrong when we did not take that noxious fumes. when i said to myself, i'm not sure this is a poison build.
-
19:58
i never should have said that, man. noxious fumes is not only good in poison builds. sometimes you just need to put up a bunch of block, you need something to slowly whittle away an enemy's hp. but either way, i'm happy to have silver crucible. i think i'm almost as the silent, i'm almost operating on the principle that... not to say we force a shiv or a slide deck, but...
-
20:24
they need to give us a good reason not to. wait, wait, wait, i'm stupid. i could have just killed you, man. no! that's okay, we recover. okay, they gave us a sly card. let's follow this new principle, man. certainly a ricochet that could do 25 damage essentially for zero is mighty interesting.
-
20:59
that seems great. that seemed really freaking good, man. and then we can probably do 8 damage to you next time. obviously we got really lucky. it's fine. we got really lucky with the fact that we drew both of those cards on the same turn. but we could just get lucky twice. or even just play this for 25 damage for 2, which i guess is not 25 on the second one. but i'll take a flick flack as well. but obviously we definitely need more discard engines now.
-
21:33
give me the lens. could really use the better defensive cards. i have a lot of gold. i could gain 4 max hp. i could transform a card. i could transform a strike into a discarder. ooh, that sucks. get a random potion. i'm out of gold. i'm not out of gold. i have 3 gold. i'm not out of gold.
-
21:57
and then do me a favor, give me a defend with the spiral. it doesn't matter whether we're ready to fight an elite bro, that's what's gonna happen. i hope you're ready, feeling ready at least. let's get rid of a flick flack and then honestly, i'm gonna play an accuracy to get it out of my deck. i don't know, maybe we could put shivs on this deck as well. stranger things have happened, i'm sure. let's draw.
-
22:34
we might need to go all in to get through this without taking a bunch of damage, but that's... i don't even think that's necessarily a bad thing. you having a bunch of weakness is huge for us. i have to remember also i don't have well laid plans anymore. as much as i wish that i did. i can only do 15 damage to you. let's settle for 14. wait, why wouldn't you spend 2 energy doing 15 then? my brain was like, it's bad value. i'd rather do less damage efficiently.
-
23:04
all right, man, you do you i guess. okay, 15 damage next turn. we don't get there. 15 damage with no block should be easy enough. that could have gone a lot worse and a snekko skull. they want me in every single archetype simultaneously, man, but we're sticking with sly for now, maybe with some shiv enablers. i don't necessarily think we should fight an elite right off the jump. i think what we should do is not
-
23:38
remove a card. yeah, we don't really need to upgrade. i feel like you still remove a strike. keep the accuracy as adjusting case and then take a flyer on an elite. whatever man, take no damage. you are going to be really annoying. yeah, you're going to be really annoying. however, every time we do this, for some reason i thought it was only the first attack that you got the bonus damage. that actually just by itself has elevated my mood.
-
24:21
this might not be as bad as i thought it was gonna be. we don't necessarily wanna break you. i think we wanna break you here. if we're gonna break you here, you play everything. really needed you to do a lot more damage on that turn, but that's okay. you still have the vigor, which is extremely annoying. i will find it hard to do 29 damage in one turn. but not that hard to do a little bit of damage and put up a ton of block. now 25 damage in one turn is very doable, man. festive popper, kinda nice.
-
25:04
i love hand trick. the thing is we still only have one card that actually discards. so we could really use, if anything, if hand trick said something like, this is annoying. if hand trick said something like, make another card also have the text discard one, that would be like, i mean, we would be feeling above and beyond about that. still, that was okay. a discarder?
-
25:40
not a discarder, pinpoint does do damage kind of feels like that's what we're gonna be going for here. i think we dodged the elite man. and i'm not over the moon about it to be honest with you. but i think you dodged the elite play a power and this is like an all in situation against the fish for sure. i guess it's an infinite blades. we have a discard. this is one energy that makes pinpoint easier to play.
-
26:24
i think we might be all right. i think it might, why would you not play accuracy first, man? simply no excuse for that. i don't think they're gonna be writing stories about how good our run is right off the bat here, but i think it certainly could be a lot worse. okay, this turn you don't have to go all in. to be able to play this and i suppose just add sly to a defense.
-
27:02
come through here. i'm playing it anyway because shivs don't retain. i don't want to, i could just as easily dead draw a shiv in the future on the same turn when you also still have intangibility or on a similar turn i should say. the beckons are so irritating. order was a little scuffed. guys i need my card that, i need my card that does a bunch of damage. you know the one i'm talking about? i'm gonna draw it next turn which is horrendous.
-
27:49
which means we actually, as much as i'd like to do damage on this turn, we have to not take damage. because we're going to take damage on the next turn because we're drawing 1 defend. now, kind of annoying, but at least it's 2 energy for 5 damage. now can i draw it again on this turn please? they wouldn't. they couldn't, man. not like, not after everything we've been through. 25 damage, theoretically on lethal potential. that's a really nice turn. would you let me draw ricochet, please? are you joking? i just need ricochet.
-
28:32
oh my god, we got it. okay. so we lived and i mean it hopefully it doesn't get much worse than that. let's put it that way. i think we have to pivot it to a shiv. it's a shiv ended discard deck as much as i like assassinate and i really do. like i think it's a really really good card and we've got festive poppers so we could really make short work of these enemies right off the bat. but a fan of knives such good aoe and then yeah, i mean
-
29:06
they didn't make it easy for us, but that might be helpful. they changed the text for this or the icon for this, i should say. upgrade four cards. we definitely do like one, two, three. well, i think that's fine. i just don't like getting addicted to the energy and then not being able to use it anymore, even though it's obviously good. one more energy per turn for one act is still okay. i'm going to take this and then be an honest, i think
-
29:45
i think this is not a try to survive angle. i think this is a court death via elites and see how you do. also as good as fan of knives is, and it is obviously awesome, we need to minimize the damage taken. at the very least we need to stun you for a turn which i think is extremely valuable. you can die on the next turn. we could probably weaken you, probably kill you.
-
30:23
i could probably get you one away from dying. well, damage. i don't want to talk about this turn. you will you will pay the price at some point. okay. and that point is probably on the next turn because i think we can kill this guy and he's a bigger priority right now. i thought i thought it would have gone down differently. let's put it that way.
-
31:00
literally, we don't have space to add anything but shivs and discarders. just the single easiest thing that would really make this deck start to pop a little bit better would just be getting a couple of discarders. just so we could reliably play our slide cards. neutralize maybe? i've already played neutralize. wouldn't surprise me. you know what? get that out there. do we even generate any more shivs now that i think about it?
-
31:36
am i playing accuracy for essentially no reason? yeah, you don't generate any more shivs, young pup. i gotta do damage. i gotta do damage. so we're taking 20 damage on like turn three, which is my fault. i'd like to reiterate it's my fault. but this guy could easily ruin our lives, man. 28 damage, please draw ricochet. you may have literally saved the run by drawing that card when you did.
-
32:10
well laid plans at least allows us to hold the survivor. that's ba as far as i'm concerned, that's a discarter. i can't fight you. i know we gotta court the elites, but i can't fight you. zero cost card could be a discarter. huge. it actually like, just the last two nodes have brought the whole run together. um, we have a real shop coming up literally next, so i'm gonna ignore you and hopefully buy the big boy relics. meat on the bone is just what you need, but also a dramatic entrant. no, well...
-
32:41
this meat on the bone, i understand the concept of infinite blades here as well, don't get me wrong, but meat on the bone is rarer than infinite blades. i still rest because trust me, i'm going to get hit in combat. and then don't just try to live, try to thrive, start fighting some elites. awesome. prepared and dump a ricochet. you're going to want to well laid plans. you're going to want to put up some block. taking no damage is good.
-
33:23
store this cuz you really do want this to pay off with a fan of knives. i think we should pop this as well and we should have popped it earlier to be fair. but this allows us to at least get that out there. of course, we're gonna save that. we have literally two discarders. so we gotta be a little bit precious about the way that we use them. having some more shift generating cards would be a top priority now.
-
34:01
and i know, okay, i know i said no to infinite blades. that's cuz we have limited resources, man. you gotta make tough decisions in this game. you got no idea what it's like to be the guy. this would give you a one energy refund. holy cow, we got to play that. i'm stunned that ended up being the right decision to be honest. and actually we're on the perfect amount of hp for a meat on the bone. you get to save a survivor which is exactly what we need when we got limited discards. holy cow.
-
34:47
could not have gone better essentially. two shivs in the hand. okay, we need shivs. it's that simple, you need shivs. type of stuff they were saying on succession if i had to guess. man of knives does not need to be played early on this one. if anything, i mean it sucks but i feel like pinpoint at least is three strikes worth of damage in a one card profile. drop this strike, need this, need this. definitely have to play the shivs.
-
35:35
hold the flick flag. we're gonna take some heat. if we're gonna take some heat, it would actually be good to lose like five more hp, but that may or may not be plausible. it's amazing how just a few extra cards has really let this run kind of come together, man. and i'll just play that. three shifts reduced cost by one has to be done. let's get greedy, but let's temper our greed with a little bit of sensibility as well. now you're a real problem for us.
-
36:12
you're a tricky sort of individual for us. what about one huge attack? strangle might be playable here. and then the rub for us, you hold something untouchable so even if your draw sucks, at least you still have something to play. and then this turn plays itself. actually really good. and then leading strike is a pretty good card next turn. you're not attacking, which is awesome.
-
36:55
which allows us to just hold a pinpoint and we really don't have to do much to you next turn to get through this, man. i don't want to talk about it. wait, we still got there. elite's drop an additional rare is kind of crazy. i think he's simmer on it, man. although we have taken no blocking cards after we take it like one blocking card after getting the rainal lens, but it could come in handy. how about an accuracy? still okay with that.
-
37:36
take as little damage as possible. we didn't play a well laid plan so we can afford to dump this and then, well, whatever man. it actually feels like things are in our favor again. which would, if i may, would actually make this like a pretty big run for me if we're able to make this not even a win but just like reasonably successful. because usually the way my best runs in this game have gone is like i kind of ball out of control from the very start of the run. to have a run
-
38:13
that is not like that. and instead, it's like we found ourselves kind of careening in the danger and then managed to steer out of the skid. that would be rare. it would be amazing. how about start there? this gives you a bunch of block, which is incredible for us, of course. you're doing 19 damage. a bunch is not as much as i would hope that it could be, but that's okay. take seven damage. decent from meat on the bone. you play two skills.
-
38:48
or do i just probably kill you with a card that does enough damage to kill you? and a blade dance. and then we rest. and i... there's gonna be an issue when it comes to damage here, but just be cool, man. be cool. dump this. player attacks. now we're much more of a shiv deck. we have to draw. we can put up some block, especially early. save a card.
-
39:18
dump this. we have not played accuracy yet, so as far as i'm concerned you save phantom knives until you can play accuracy, which happens on the next turn. and then you have to play one of them. i think you just play up my sleeve because it whipping around quicker is more valuable because of the fact that it becomes cheaper on subsequent plays.
-
39:45
blade dance also makes pinpoint cheaper, which is why we're interested here. it is five shivs, i can't deny that, but we could always just play it on a turn in which you're not attacking. now, we're getting hit. no one can deny that we're getting hit. this time, i really think you play phantom knives, and then prepared dumping of flick flack is kind of nice. up my sleeve gives you 30 more damage. i still think we lose, just because we absolutely cannot play less than three cards per turn.
-
40:26
so we have to be able to put up a stupid amount of block. i think we get to the point now where we're like, you know what? all of our damage just comes from like forget ricochet. 15 to yeah, we need more block. all of our damage has to come from ships. we can play ricochet when it's like lethal. we may just die right here 38 we're doing yeah, you're doing enough to kill us.
-
40:58
oh, please, please. i really, i think we did a good job. i think i could be reasonably pleased with myself for getting out of that situation the way that we did. i thought that could have gone worse. i mean, we didn't really get out of the situation because we lost, but either way, thanks for watching. i hope you enjoyed it. if you did, click the like button. i hope you did a great deal. subscribe if you want to see more in the future. i'll see you later.
