gamers, we're back with slay the spire 2. we've been getting our butt kicked lately, but i'm still having a good time. if anything, i'm saying hurt me more, hurt me more because i love the game so much. hear me out. make the shears mad precarious, cut two strikes, do all your damage with orbs. might be a little bit avant garde, or i mean for all i know.
-
0:26
it might be quote unquote the way mandalorian and grogless style as far as i know it could be like mandem mandy morian and uh groglet in theaters, i don't know like as of like two weeks ago or something like that. i don't know i was trying to keep trying to go see the back rooms but they're not playing it on criterion channel yet. i love being able to channel some glass. that's why i'm the first person who's ever been called mr glass is because i love to channel it so much.
-
0:57
i mean, i'm worried i'm kind of slipping into dr. panglossian flandersization when it comes to slay the spire card evals, but like, they put it on the uncommon level for a reason. it must be good. i guess it doesn't mean that it's good in every single deck necessarily, in every single context, but...
-
1:19
it must be good if they put it there. give me a tempest as well, who knows? we might get a series of relics that give us tons of energy. cut the other strike. i know this seems crazy, bro. we're on the jungle. that's devastating news. devastating news for us because it means that we'll be dealing with mostly single target elites instead of aoe. this is like a great time to have been on the underdocs, but you know what?
-
1:48
way of the world, bro. way of the world. look at the damage we did there. that was crazy. i mean, barrage does seem plausible that barrage could be doing some work for us. orbs are so important here. we have 129 gold. i mean, it is tempting for me to get ball lightning, but like as crazy as it seems, what if we cut that last strike and we just had no strikes in the deck?
-
2:21
but if we had an 11 card deck with no strikes on the seventh node of the game, like is that too freaking crazy for you? or are you a real one? are you a beast like me? by the way, we're doing no damage, which is not awesome. but the glass orbs will help us out a lot. i wouldn't necessarily suggest that they're gonna chew through the opposition.
-
2:51
they're gonna do some serious work, even that one. just doing a little bit of damage to each of them right off the bat is so nice. i was hoping we'd get another one here. if not, we'd rather evoke it, i think. we got three lightning orbs out there. even, i mean, it's not aoe, but three lightning orbs by itself is like, it's pretty good against four weak enemies. and then i think there's a really good chance we killed the two that are attacking here.
-
3:26
still hurt me a lot, but we made it through. we had the rest anyway, now we just have to rest twice. parrying shield is not really what we were looking for. i do feel like hotfix makes sense. like am i correct in my present assumption that, oh no! sure. gain two focus for each unique orb you have and then exhaust. let me see if we draw glass of such luck.
-
4:00
and it's just for this turn? this is a criminal turn, bro. i'm going to die? so you're saying i deserve to die? that seems great. that seems unfair to me. i mean, i did what i could, man. never mind. so what i was going to say is that focus seems really good with glass because of the fact that it applies the damage to all enemies and the glass decays. so like summoning a new one that has more
-
4:32
that does more damage before decaying seems really good. helix drill, three damage for every energy previously spent this turn. i'm just gonna say it, man. we've been getting a little screwed by question marks that have turned into combat lately. it's naive to assume that that will never come to pass and every question mark is just gonna give us like a free relic or something, but we've been getting unduly kind of like disproportionately screwed by them. but that's, i mean,
-
5:01
i don't want to get into any like steam review discourse necessarily. what did we get again? more energy you spend, the more damage you do. why not man? let's give it a try. but if you want the game to be easy, don't play on the hardest difficulty, i guess is what i'm trying to say. i could do 18 damage, channel 2 glass, which is another 8 damage. so that's 26 damage. then helix drill hits for 9. i don't think it's the play.
-
5:29
i think the play instead is put up like a single block and then just kill you next turn instead. or perhaps even a turn after that. i don't want to use an energy potion to kill the sludge spinner man. like there's some aura deficits that you just can't recover from. i'm going hotfix. we got another chance to try our focus strategy. god what i wouldn't give for just one more energy though. wait it worked! okay lucky us the lightning hit you we won the 50 50.
-
6:10
and then you're cooked. what do you got for me, man? i mean, listen, if one is good, then two must be amazing, right? pay 40 gold, upgrade a random card, continue feasting. yeah. pay 40 gold, heal 10 hp, continue feasting. sure. pay 40 gold, gain 4 max hp, continue feasting. all right. i could eat more, but i'm out of gold. forgot that there was a shop right here. i don't even want to know what i'm missing. aoe? aoe. not aoe. sadly not aoe.
-
6:44
but with a bunch of glass orbs out there, enough passive damage that we can just play blocks. maybe not, maybe not on this turn. i think this is one of these. huge overkill and then an energy potion into the double blocker. i don't know, glass might be like completely garbage against you, man. glass might be insNLy bad against you. that's four damage. not really.
-
7:18
feeling awesome about that. this kills you though. that was not so bad. akabeco. i mean, i will say akabeco with refract seems pretty good. we pass on this. what about going straight for the upgrade, man? i accidentally drew a line on the map. let's go for sword of stone. there are some elites coming up if we felt good about fighting them.
-
7:44
you know what, let's take a chance on it. because getting extra strength to combine with akabeco and a multi hit attack could be kind of swag. we're going to be taking so much damage in the process if we're going to be so aggressive every time. we're doing a crazy amount of damage. honestly, a loop with glass orbs seems like a catnip for aoe. curtains for zusha. channel a glass at the start of your turn. we will play an ice lance, man. for sure.
-
8:20
then you get a loop out there regardless, probably summon one of these. choose to take no damage. totally fine. free frost. you know what? and then you take 12. but we literally take 0. this is the perfect amount of hp to have you on. this is kind of a dream come true actually. wait, this was crazy. i mean we did use what in my opinion might be one of the best potions in the game to make it happen, but still.
-
8:54
not just i mean actually now that i think about it throwing some a client here might make a little bit of sense because it costs zero i think you slow play on man. i don't like taking a damage, but i really don't like taking 16 damage i deal 12 damage twice on channel 2 glass with high focus. yeah, this is gonna do some work please give me who's our our enemy. i was hoping to be the aoe enemy, but no big deal please give me an aoe elite
-
9:30
feral does make so much sense, but boot sequence to not take damage on turn. oh my god, it's an aoe enemy, bro. i'm literally gonna save my energy or my akabeko, i should say, to use with a refract. that's 20 damage twice. okay. i mean, kill the one that's doing the most damage and has also already been buffed, of course.
-
10:00
and then i would love to just, i mean, play in some blocks and some more refracts would go crazy. 10 damage twice. it literally like that could not have gone better man and anchors crazy. i would love to have a genetic algorithm here. realistically, i do still think you wanna rest. and this will be a test because glass is not as good against a single enemy. but we're gonna try to take advantage of back up back go for sure. don't wake them up man.
-
10:35
this is the turn when we go freaking crazy. 70 damage before they did anything felt pretty good. i honestly think we're in like a knockdown drag out heavyweight type battle. like, we got to do some damage quick. you're doing 20? what a coincidence. now don't die on the next turn. getting that boot sequence is so huge. holy cow. but we really left it all on the table there. but you know what? they got the job done.
-
11:14
spinner seems like what you need, right? although modded is interesting to get more or i mean modded is really good. zero cost, worst case scenario zero cost draw one. but channeling a glass at the start of the turn kind of crazy too. and it's kind of exactly what we're going for. dual cast becomes quad cast. that's awesome, man. that's awesome. didn't even get to play genetic algorithm, which is crazy. honestly, i feel like radiant pearl makes a ton of sense.
-
11:50
that way we could theoretically play a block and also play our glass. now as much as i love the idea of getting to this shop, i actually more love the idea of choosing one of these two paths based on our hp and then trying to complete sword of stone. the extra strength does weirdly kind of work with what we're trying to get done here.
-
12:22
horrible turn, man. but you know what? we still got the passive damage out there. it's very easy to kill you. you're taking a refract, which i simply cannot abide, obviously. it's like that's my card. i don't think we need those, but i will definitely say i also don't fully know what we need. just spooky. i think it would be nice to start playing genetic algorithm.
-
12:59
and get it buffed up a little bit. otherwise, there's literally no point to having this dead card in our deck. hologram... i do feel like on a dead turn, like when we draw garbage, a hologram bringing back a refract is pretty nice. you can see, like this... we're doing a ton of damage. i should have played the hotfix first for sure, but we're doing like a staggering amount of damage. w luminescence to play a one block defend.
-
13:38
i mean, this guy is annoying. the fact that we're kind of eating him up is very positive. even if we didn't have to take that much damage to begin with, i would happily take a block as well. i'm gonna say let's play it safe, even though it means we'll have one less elite on this floor. cut two strikes for an ultimate strike. classic mistake taking the first two, but we take those. beautiful turn. two of these and the claw.
-
14:16
don't even need to play the boot sequence. still happy to have it though. glass work like philip. you're doing no damage so play this, play this, play your luminescence, do a little bit of damage. our glass kind of sucks for sure. but i fully believe that you're dead. very happy with my potions. one day i might even consider using them.
-
14:45
let's rest. we can always upgrade a card later. and honestly, have we ever been on a fight thus far and been like, man, i really need this card to be upgraded? like it hasn't happened yet. refract is huge, of course. maybe this is where you could throw out an early vom. and then you're doing 16 damage. still worth playing a boot sequence. i don't think you need to pop a luminescence into a hologram for this. hologram into refract.
-
15:15
no, we don't even need it on this one. let's refract anya's, 13 damage, we're only doing 11. helix drill is gonna do something to this. this is definitely like a luminescence loop. this does eight, defend helix drill, i think. we are gonna have to kill you, but you've laid the groundwork already.
-
15:51
you're already, actually you're both basically dead already. that was a really good fight man. pantograph is like core, you must have it. don't want those. strawberry, max hp, i mean i'm the number one stone humidifier enjoyer. i'm just gonna take the gold so i have enough hp to feel great about this fight. and to be honest, a lot of our damage doesn't come from
-
16:24
don't even play the boot sequence. it doesn't come from attacks. it comes from the glass orbs. literally i played you one time which is so sad, man. you know what? we should have popped this earlier but let's also pop this and i will ultimate strike you and then we should hit you five times, man. you freaking earned it but don't the claw and i hate to say this but i think the claw might have been a mistake to add into the deck. also i have refracts in the deck.
-
16:58
they're trolling me by not giving them to me until like this moment right here. but this turn sucks, but maybe next turn we can finish the job hopefully. not too bad. bag of marbles is awesome, man. i will take a glacier and i'll rest again. and then we don't have to rest. if these aren't combats, we definitely don't have to rest. i still don't think we do well against these guys. we would do better by the way, if you would freaking debuff.
-
17:36
we would do better if we could draw refract on turn one, but i guess we do have a 23 card deck. it's kind of a little not the most likely outcome. i believe you die to an orb. you die to glass, of course, the ultimate orb. finally a refract and you're still sleeping. definitely again an order mistake there. and we still got luminescence in hand, which is awesome. do you really? okay, you don't spawn with plating. that would have really ticked me the frick off.
-
18:18
you need a little bit of this. i think this is our luminescence turn. and it's sad to do that to play a single defend, but i thought it was necessary. and this, to my surprise, does not ruin your life, but you do die next turn. this was a totally fine fight. i don't know why i'm giving commentary like this was crazy difficult or something, but... now how do we do against the sandworm? against the sandworm's an interesting one. new glass? channel a glass and then get another glass.
-
18:59
trigger the orb twice, 5 damage for every energy previously spent. double up on the better refracts. i don't know how much this helps us against the worm right now, but if anything, i think that the smart play is to use a duplicator potion on a relevant power, which in this scenario is almost certainly spinner. just so we can get orbs whipping around faster.
-
19:49
i think a loop could be kind of important too. 31 damage. i can live with 31 damage to hold the luminescence for a different turn. we do have to play a frantic escape and a refract probably on the same turn. yes, so this is actually what i want. you can play frantic. i don't know why i thought i had two frantics there, but i would find it very surprising
-
20:23
if we took so much damage that we died. but still, let's just keep you at bay for now. we're summoning two glass per turn, which is a decent amount of passive damage. keep it rolling. pardon her. you gotta play a frantic escape. don't fail to draw a frantic. that would be a comical situation at this point. let's hologram back. claw. claw's not really a big concern for us right now, but it's something.
-
20:56
this is one of those times where i'd like actually really like to see how much damage our glass orbs are doing relative to everything else we got going on. because i do get the vibe that it's like, it's them against the world. let's put it that way. now you should be dead, man. you should be dead. and we got to save our plating potion. what do we need? gain four energy. i mean, that's the play, man. gain four energy on considering how expensive our deck is.
-
21:32
we definitely... i don't think we want you to play our first turn for us. a ethereal copy of the first attack you play actually would be awesome if we drew refract. because then with refract and luminescence we could play two of them on the first turn. channel 4 glass probably do like a lot of damage. removing three cards
-
22:06
i mean the defense and the strikes are not good man. it does add a curse so it's kind of like removing two cards. you know what? i think we want the an ethereal copy of the first attack we play. each turn, each turn is crazy. we need to fight one elite, preferably like as early and as safely as possible. actually feel like the the best elite is probably that one. like take this path. you do want to spend money of course but
-
22:44
all right, let's see how this goes. ideal aoe for sure. i think you just hotfix. it's 24. taking no damage. get that out there. i want to see how this refract play can work for us, man. we also need supercritical, i'm realizing now. no attacks, okay? what else is new? i mean, one attack. which actually could be relevant, unfortunately. i guess we should hit you and then play this. and then play luminescence.
-
23:25
glass still did some work there. guys, where's my good cards? like this is not a drill. well, i see what you did there. i see what you did there. get a glacier.
-
23:44
you will die, we will not take, you two helix drills is crazy. if you can stall and play your first attack, like when you've exhausted all of your energy, that's crazy. uproar could hit our glass potion, but it's not too freaking likely. i'll lose 15 hp to upgrade two cards. too few were at the start of each combat, can't happen. i don't know how good those are gonna be for us, but there's just a non starter man, crazy.
-
24:19
this is like a disgusting first hand, what would you even play here man? you don't need the block. so if anything, take double energy and just don't use it. then you get that, you bring back helix drill. technically we do take one damage, but it could double up on claw.
-
25:01
which for some reason i said it as if it was stupid then i'm realizing like it's literally our only attack so of course you're gonna double up on claw bro. and then bring back the ethereal claw, take seven more damage kind of embarrassing. i'm very glad we took the safe path let's put it that way. one thing that could definitely kill us is that these refracts are like falling to the bottom of the deck man. i know i said no to another claw. i'm standing 10 toes down and grabbing my ankles on that one i think it's the right play.
-
25:37
14 damage, one of those. get that glass moving up to the front. where's my refract, bro? we haven't even used akabeco yet. where's refract?! has to be done. super critical has been a complete dead card for us. it's not even its fault, but still. makes me sick. this is a big turn though. now we get another one of these that we can't play, but i really feel like with pantograph we have something... we have something kind of special working here, man.
-
26:27
you simply wouldn't. you wouldn't kill me. you wouldn't do enough damage to me to really hurt me either. boot sequence will keep us safe. hero damage glass? i've got frost orbs. would you let me get a frost orb out there? yeah, we own you little bro. sorry to say we own you. umm... don't need them. don't need them. wait, this is not the safest elite is this one. let's see how we fare after this fight. you're the kind of beast we like to be up against. an aoe menace?
-
27:08
problem is i don't know what happened, but i don't draw refract anymore. like you're seeing it in real time here. refract just does not get drawn. you know what? it's literally like the right play. the play three strikes off of that super critical. refract literally exists. this is a first for a guy like me. you're not dying and you were supposed to. now you're dying. and we'll summon some frost orbs, okay? or evoke a frost orb, i should say.
-
27:59
you could die, all i need to do is summon a little bit. huge. i mean, in a way this is good because we're filling our deck. i didn't even look at the fact that you're doing damage to me, that's kind of embarrassing. we're filling our deck with more refracts. it does feel like a leap might be in order, man. we really just gonna dodge? don't kill me. i'll serve as the decider, man. yeah, yeah, heal me for 10. could come in handy. some a hole took all my hp.
-
28:33
it's okay, super critical. what is it that you would say that you do here? cuz you're really starting to tick me off. absolutely insane draw, i greatly appreciate it. and then, no, it doesn't cuz we're just the, it doesn't fill our deck cuz the cards are ethereal of course man, of course. give me a loop and a spinner that should really help us out at dealing with these guys. i'm thinking the play is probably just go straight for the helix drill.
-
29:19
to get two of those out there. probably didn't need to hit you again now that i think about it, but not both attacking on the same turn is a huge dub for us. begin at dubs, let's double up on this. nine damage, we're doing nine damage. that's awesome. let's just smack you then. you're going to come back, right? you had one left on you. you're not attacking, which is a grave error and you will pay the price. you'll pay the price accordingly. test subject and queen and the... test subject and queen and the queen.
-
30:08
i don't know. i don't know. i think honestly, take these two, go here. get the strength right before the final boss. enchant the card that exhausts with soul's power. yeah, i'll add a decay. dude, as much as super critical seems awesome, and believe me, it does, genetic algorithm that doesn't exhausts. there's a reason this event's on act three, let's put it that way.
-
30:39
meat on the bone when we have the perfect amount of hp. wait, possibly the perfect elite for us as well. we'll scale the claws, man. you're doing 24 damage. i just don't buy that the plating is worth using here as opposed to next time. super critical, super critical. oh! okay. hop, fix me. super critical. refract, refract, refract. is that too freaking crazy for you?
-
31:29
and then send a glacier out there just for like future proofing, man. your upgrades are no more! okay, man. now there is a part of me that thinks the best play now would just be to like try to stall him and just get as many plays on genetic algorithm as we could. but he ain't gonna let that happen. i'm sorry to say. it would be really funny if we died as a result of like our insolence there, by the way, but whatever.
-
32:06
getting blood vial there is kind of funny. give me a... no, i don't think chill is what we need given that we're at most gonna have two enemies to fight. i honestly think you upgrade. recurring hologram? like is this the way mandalorian? is this the way? okay, make hotfix not exhaust. because we have pantograph, we're gonna go up to 75 right here anyway. early refract is exactly what we want to freaking see.
-
32:43
i honestly think the start of this fight looks so good that we don't even have to pop our strength potion. we'll pop that, take three. i can live with that. it's like when you're on the borderline of a, you're not quite sure if it's gonna be a win or a loss. it makes a big difference what you choose to use your potions on. and that's on fleek, man. we might need to use it here though cuz you start to do like 33 damage or whatever, but okay. pop it, pop it, it gets rough.
-
33:32
glacier, for sure. spinner is like a core card. probably a great turn for us to just get everything we got out there. get your claws to scale. 33 damage, obviously we're... i mean, we put up 27. that's actually better than i thought we were gonna be doing. and you got 44, which is not awesome. it is kind of crazy to just be like, hot fixing. there's a part of me that's like, what if you just hologram supercritical, play it,
-
34:07
hotfix hologram genetic algorithm play it we actually managed to do like a decent amount of damage there i guess we should be holograming genetic algorithm like at all times i would prefer not to take 55 damage but i mean if i play two refracts it does 32 it then does 8 and 10 so it does 50 and then there will be six and i guess it's gonna be 666
-
34:45
so we do, would you really live with one hp in which case this would put you past lethal? my god, i think it actually did. we got over it by one strength and we gained two strengths. that's why that's a certified we do the math moment. i think that mattered. i don't know if i did the math right but i feel like it felt to me like it mattered. that means something to a beast like me. glacier of course. and then
-
35:14
hologram and you just need something that costs zero. it's a little extra block. should have played it again of course but didn't. 45 damage. well this is like you just need to play genetic algorithm and then probably claws, scaling claws. hp is not necessarily in a bad spot because we in theory we would come back with maybe meat on the bone plus pantograph heals. this is going to put a bit of a damper on the situation.
-
35:56
because we're about to take, i don't know, like 30 damage but this uh i shouldn't have said anything because i'm pretty sure we're just dead. yeah yeah we're dead. that was really good. if i may well i thought we did an amazing job especially considering we were deep in an archetype that i'm not that familiar with but for now thanks for watching i'll be enjoying it if you click the like button subscribe you wanna see more in the future i'll see you next time later
