chatters we're back. we're back and we're playing a little slate aspire to i would silent and necro binder, right? we need silent and necro binder on video. i guess we need we need all of them we need none of them. it's the yin and the yang. it's the it's the it's the scroll boxes this time and then no synergy at all, but three attacks. oh
-
0:31
um, a small amount of synergy between sculpting strike and fear. there's like an ethereal synergy. veilpiercer, blightstrike, i think i gotta go rattle sculpting strike, fear. having the ability to put some vulnerability on the opposition seems like it could be very useful early. let's get this cheddar, man. so the necrobinder run that i won,
-
0:59
on stream. i do have to say it was like a miraculous win. it was not like a... it was not one where i was like for the whole run i was like we're easily gonna win. it took a little bit of elbow grease. it took a lot of grinding to get these views so to speak. so what i'm trying to say is that i essentially don't really feel all that confident that i really understand what makes a necrobinder run tick. we're gonna take all this gold just because the shop's right here. okay, i like...
-
1:33
i like the next ethereal card you play cost zero. we have a mild ethereal synergy. i think, i mean whenever you but honestly, i really like i really like the idea of a letter opener and then building for souls because then every three souls we play, this is like a lot of max hp over the run. i think they're both good. i'm gonna i'm gonna go with the one that's harder to screw up. yeah, and then cut an attack maybe. um...
-
2:07
but i really, like a letter opener, i'm talking as if it's like an automatic win. we still have to build like literally anything that generates souls, souls beside grave warden, besides grave warden, i should say. but still, that was interesting to me. i'm very enamored by the idea of a souls build though. might not be all that. let's build up a block battery here, i like it. but what does the deck do right now? don't worry about it, young pup.
-
2:42
what i'm gonna say is don't worry about it, young pup. what it does is it plays attacks that are better than basic strikes and as a result it gets kills. we'll figure the rest out later. how about another ethereal card, man? how about a shop with 21 gold in your pocket wasting everybody's freaking time? don't want to go too heavy on the curses right off the bat. you know what? let's fight them, man. do they start with artifact? of course they do. of course they do.
-
3:12
we'll go, it's gonna sting. we'll go unleash, rattle goes off twice. veil piercer does damage, gives us a free card next turn presumably. can't kill you, so we'll stall for one more turn. this decision might lead to me dying, which i would describe as probably like the wrong decision if that happens. i'm not afraid to say that if we end up passing away, we'll probably feel like we didn't make the right decision when we chose to fight these two robots.
-
3:49
i have to say i was, i mean we're cooked but i was really feeling myself honestly. maybe we're not quite cooked yet. i was feeling myself because we had what i thought were decent attacks but maybe i don't know what i'm talking about. i think that one bodyguard we played ages ago might have actually saved us here which is crazy. please for the love of god, 13 damage like one unleash, okay we get there. a bowler hat doesn't
-
4:20
work with dragon fruit, unfortunately would be awesome. but what a grave blast, grave blast bringing back veil piercer is like free real estate. obviously as soon as you find yourself resting at every campfire, you start to think like maybe we're screwed though. it's true that maybe it's not every campfire, maybe it's just the first campfire but sort of feels like every campfire right now. but then i don't know, now that we got the festive poppers, everything's coming together, man. blew those guys out.
-
4:54
hear me out, this is crazy. add ethereal to, this might be stupid man. sing add ethereal to your berry and then play veil piercer so your berry is free. or all we need is a sculpting strike. a sculpting strike hits, we make berry free. holy cow, i can't realistically expect that to work like every single time but that was kind of awesome. we skip.
-
5:31
probably don't fight in a leap on this amount of hp. a double veil piercer actually seems to make a lot of sense in there. i honestly just like dramatic entrance just cuz we also have festive poppers. so we can really start by at least having a lot of momentum early. not really gonna help us against the bosses that much, i suppose.
-
5:59
honestly, i think we take one damage to just make sure that you die next turn. not that much of a help against the bosses, but against the basics, it's making it a lot easier. probably would like a lethality. i don't know, the deck feels like it has no cohesion at all though. really feels like it's just absolutely, it's just like eight cards stapled together.
-
6:26
and then people are like, what does your deck do? well, i don't fully know as of right now. i'm sorry to say. am i gonna wake you up on this turn? i think we should. i think there's no real reason to make two ethereal cards cost zero. cuz i don't think, i mean my guess is that it doesn't stack. i think it makes the first ethereal card cost zero twice. wait, we're still chilling. waste a turn of vulnerability to put up some block, keep your block battery going.
-
7:09
lethality costs zero. that is nice. 15 damage is no joke. an ethereal defend and then also play two defends. 14 damage. do what we're cooking up here. nothing. if anything, maybe graveblast, veilpiercer back. do some damage. be able to play a defile. obviously, we take a little damage in the process, but then we're shuffling it around again.
-
7:47
it's tough, the damage descaling happens pretty quick, man. i think you just gotta get in there. the berry is basically being a dead draw for us, unfortunately, but it's a ethereal card you play cost zero. we're not dead, we appear to be dead, but we're not dead. the rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated. now i have to kill you this turn or i think we're eating dirt. cuz i'm definitely not generating really any block, so to speak.
-
8:23
next, oh it does stack next to ethereal cards. well we're dead anyway but that's good to know i suppose. now i really got teased by the sculpting strike berry combo working like right off the bat. maybe you'd rather have like a wisp that retains or something in order to get that out there. it's all right it happens. i love a squeeze man. squeeze it just gives you something to structure your whole run around. you just build, oh i noticed the attack i'll take it.
-
8:56
can you believe it another another osti attack? i think squeeze was actually one of the key cards on the on the 810 necro binder when i actually had. oh a poke! you shouldn't have! a poke that makes my squeeze better? it's actually like a kind of a funny statement when you think about it, but and another osti attack? an osti attack that actually does aoe? wow what a world we're living in look at this and then on turn two draw squeeze if only we could stay in these wild days for the rest of our lives
-
9:28
oh, a fetch, an oste attack that draws a card. okay, sure, why not, man? upgrade our squeeze. i think we gotta be aggressive with the elites here. we're on the jungle too, right? the jungle is like single target foes, which is perfect for us. i'm not a pull aggro believer unless we can get like dance macabre. seance, i mean, i kinda like, but does it cost zero when upgraded? bit of a dead draw when we don't draw though. i think this is a skip. although,
-
10:05
well, great blasters are common. we could always snag it later if we need it. cue it never showing up again. but i was thinking using that to bring back a squeeze would be nice, of course. but, um, sure. aoe is the only thing that kind of sucks right now. fetch a squeeze, maybe? fetch an unleash? well, should have started with this, obviously, but... and definitely should have played... the order was all scuffed there.
-
10:36
as bad as our draws have been, i still think it's possible you just die here. not possible, guaranteed. at the start of each combat, add three souls into your draw pile. that seems awesome, man. i mean, being able to create vulnerability would be really nice. and then actually, i think this is great timing, because immediately getting to two vulnerable so we can play it the turn before we play a squeeze, hopefully. and then we should be running down elites, man. you have like no hp. i think we just do that.
-
11:15
because basically you die, you die to a squeeze and possibly i have to use a potion. i don't want to fetch just in case we get our squeeze. we're guaranteed to get our squeeze man. squeeze this 54 damage. okay, well fine. if i have to, i'm not going to take 21 damage so we'll use a potion there. fire is fine i think. we do want block but i don't think we want block in that form. lethality seems like a given. grave warden is really nice.
-
11:52
there was another oste attack, another good one actually for that matter, but bone shards all the time. this is a great time to have the potion of binding. holy cow. it's a horrible time to have squeeze. we just use potion of binding after we go to the aoe phase. send it, poke him, send it. well, we don't wanna use potion of binding right now. we would certainly rather use it on.
-
12:33
a turn in which at least the enemies are attacking. we're probably not gonna play squeeze here, so let's make sure we got the right order. like we wanna make sure that there's not two of them alive attacking at the same time. wait, this is incredible. 18 damage to all enemies and then just like two attacks finishes the job. this was not bad at all, man. great, cuz we had lethality. lethality is hooking us up. whenever a non minion dies to doom, heal for three.
-
13:14
unlikely to be what we need. i'm taking the flatten over the defy which i know is crazy but unlikely to be what we need but it's the thought that counts. you do more damage, we should actually like hit you and then we don't even need to kill you. you're just putting a bunch of junk in our deck. and one squeeze in the fights over. so what do we care about curses problem? this boss though? really this boss after everything we've been through that was awesome. that was great.
-
14:02
what do we need? what's gonna get us through this guy, man? we don't really play ethereal cards. we have one, we have two ethereal cards. i think it's a skip. i guess it's like a skip, rest, pray. use your weak potion to the best of your ability and then just hit him. it's gonna take a long time to punch through slippery, but is what it is, i guess. oasty attack maybe? no, no oasty attack? if no oasty attack, then i will hit you twice instead of playing a flatten.
-
14:41
i'm not gonna weaken you here, perhaps against my better judgment. come on, give me some attacks, that's what we're looking for. and the reason we're not gonna weaken you here is because i think you're gonna do more damage after you buff. so we might as well save the weakness potion. we paid a heavy price to get through slippery, man, but here we are. 10 damage, 10 damage, you got me feeling like we don't need to pop a weakness potion. maybe we pop it on your third turn of attacking.
-
15:20
maybe we pop it on your second turn of attacking, because we would be a fool if we didn't play our best attack. and then all we need to do is live to play one more squeeze. you're doing 24 damage. i have more than 24 block. well, more than 24 life by a little. squeeze me. little squeeze. little squeeze, we go a long way. little squeeze. oh, how could you? wait. no, we're still dead, man.
-
15:59
it's a cruel world! it's a cruel world we live in. i was turned into an inklet by the vantum. i mean, i don't know anything about game balance. anytime you see the vantum early, i mean, you should probably be paying attention, i guess. give me silver crucible, don't even worry about the rares. although squeeze was so nice. the person and the card. maybe we get a kill with a bodyguard unleash. well, take 4 damage to not take 12 damage. easy play.
-
16:36
but you know what, now we're unburdened by whatever. having a rare off the bat, which means we are free to build whatever we want instead of just something that we know is good. i'm not really sold on severance, the show or the card, but you can get some fun stuff going with souls for sure. i'm gonna take production. severance is a pretty expensive card. i will take a spoils map. i believe that we can make it happen. i believe we can do something good with it.
-
17:19
i believe we could take damage on the first turn because we drew strike, defend, defend, strike, curse. and i believe that there's very little we could have done about that to be honest with you. so already, remember when i said we could build anything? as soon as i took severance, i mean, all i wanna build is a deck that kills with souls. so a death march is like a perfect addition to that. cuz then you get to do like, you're gonna do four additional damage, we're gonna draw two off of this.
-
17:53
we should hit you, make sure that you die and then play a soul. the idea would be that the soul would then work with another soul, but it's all right. we still got next turn. and then like another soul generator would honestly be pretty sweet. i think fear is pretty good. honestly, just knowing that we're likely to encounter some aoe.
-
18:19
seems mighty useful. now you are not aoe, not that that really matters in the whole scheme of things here. and you are very annoying, i don't think anyone would dispute this about you. basically neutralize my win condition which is playing a big death march. not taking damage though. same can't be said for oste, but good for me i suppose. 22 damage, this is like we're high on get a life territory here. i'm just gonna smack you man, cuz you're ticking me off, i wanna see less of you.
-
19:03
15 next turn. didn't do the math, worked out nicely. huge. okay, we live. pendulum is more draw on occasional turns. grave warden is more souls. we do have to rest now. and i think what we're looking for is haunt. if we can get a haunt and then just... right, i was so excited and then to have it ripped away from me by me. something's not right! they're giving me too many defense on my first turn, man. i think they're trolling. i literally can't get a kill. that's crazy.
-
19:40
given the tools at our disposal, that's insane. i would love to draw so it cannot be done. but we can definitely do some damage. oh, i got extra energy? this production has been upgraded, man. whatever, you just play so and you win.
-
20:07
whenever you play a card that costs two or more gain four block actually makes severance a little easier to play i'm gonna dodge the elite. i think that this run it takes a little bit more it's got a setup time associated with it that we are not at yet also, i think i might be dead by the time i make it to the boss, which would be pretty embarrassing i really i don't want to spend the potion to do seven damage, but i
-
20:36
my god and you take it at the start of your like you don't take it before you do it i thought it would work like a poison potion man instead. it's it's kind of like a doom potion so that was just an extreme waste of resources. that would have been very appropriate to use on a boss instead. that's okay. we're falling into a embarrassing habit here. you should have played dance macabre there. oh
-
21:04
we will take a putrefy. 7 hp to make it to the boss. that's honestly for a guy like me, that's just another day at the office. that's nothing serious. let's use a petrify potion though, or a dexterity potion, petrify potion. this is your brain on four hours of counter strike as i did earlier today. i'll have you know by the way, i'm literally not dead. i just appear.
-
21:36
that i'm going to die. but 1 hp is in some ways the most valuable amount of hp that you can have. because this, if you really think about it, the first 65, if i'm still here after losing 65 hp, then obviously the first 65 didn't matter all that much. otherwise i'd be dead. they would have killed me by now. you know what? you can still take a zero cost card that does three damage in draws. i don't know who needs to hear me say it. actually for once we're stoked to have drawn some, some defense. i appreciate that.
-
22:17
and we're dead. we've died in a very embarrassing way. we've died to a basic enemy on the first act after getting the exact deck i asked for. the necrobinder couldn't bear the stench of some evil gas. the necrobinder... who among us, okay? we're gonna lock in, we're gonna hydrate, and we're gonna actually play properly this time. we're going to build an ethereal deck at all costs so we can actually play a banshee's cry. what a turn, man.
-
22:56
actually, that might have been the ideal draw for that turn. i actually can't complain. now, a lot of people would say banshee's cry kind of sucks. you need to play nine ethereal cards to make it playable. well, the good news is that's false. we need to play six ethereal cards to get it down to three energy. the news that's a little bit more practical is that i have zero ethereal cards in my deck to start with, but... and that's not going to change. but a sow is helpful.
-
23:34
pardon me. a sculpting strike could really start to tie the run together. how about choose one of five cards to add to your deck? how about none ethereal cards? how about apply 21 doom in one week? this is like not to be the type of slay the spire player that i would make fun of. this is like the kind of run where i'm like, you should just quit this run as soon as it starts. nothing is synergizing at all here.
-
24:05
our random rare... i wouldn't say it was scuffed, but you'd rather add it at the end of an elite run than at the start. and we've taken so much damage in the first few combat nodes, man, but you never know. i'm sorry. this one is...
-
24:26
life's too short, okay? no, a 9 cost ethereal card. literally i would have to spend three turns worth of energy to play it. ice cream and then play nothing for three turns. and then three card rewards with no ethereal is like the game's trolling a little bit. capture spirit, wisp, afterlife, death's door, invoke, brave warden. capture spirit is kind of fun. i like it. um, alright, alright. this one we're gonna lock in, man.
-
24:58
if you lock in, anything's possible. we're gonna dodge all the shops. we're gonna draw the same turn we always draw, which makes sense because it's the same cards in your starting deck that you always have. you know what? i don't think there'll be a better wisp than that on fight one. and already, this is going a lot better. although this is really where you started to beat the crap out of us last time. no, it doesn't even matter. so what does the deck do? the deck, it doesn't have to do anything yet.
-
25:38
let's take a spur, i don't know. it's kind of like, it's an oste angle early maybe? and then actually, i think the biggest tip i could say for myself is maybe like, maybe use this to heal later. that's not the biggest tip. the biggest tip is actually think about your turns before you just drag the cards. one of summon, you're taking no damage. defend means oste lives. and then next turn you play the spur and he goes,
-
26:12
am i crazy to think he goes to 14 hp and we take no damage? he goes to 14, stack him up, look for unleash. holy cow. wait a minute. you know what? give me another afterlife, man. you know megacrit is on one with afterlife and bodyguard. because they're like, bodyguard, summon 5, 1 cost. if you add one more summon, the only way to balance it is to make it exhaust. like that seems...
-
26:46
they know what they're doing, don't get me wrong. it just seems a little specious to me. i understand that it becomes bigger when it's upgraded, so does everything. that has a certain cost associated with it as well, the opportunity cost of using a campfire for it. but the other thing i guess i should say is if their rating summons so highly, then perhaps i should start to think about why that is. maybe they're rating it highly because it's very powerful. but b man could be.
-
27:16
is it... oops, wrong button. almost restarted again. is it an oasty build again? i love pull from below when we build into ethereal, but i think there might be like a little oasty angle on this one. sown is just too good to pass up. let's just put that on afterlife. let's put it on capture spirit. so the first time we get capture spirit, it's easier for us to justify adding momentum to our deck with the souls. i literally, by the way, have no idea which one to kill first. i've just, you know... thinner enemy.
-
28:01
might as well. the inner enemy with a long technique driven sword, you gotta go. you absolutely have to pay the price because you're gonna do a lot of damage. tanky guy is kind of coded as brainless. i wish that i'd attacked you earlier though because the shield is annoying. i can do 12 damage to you though and then we've only got to worry about this fellow. this fellow is not even attacking this turn. this is free which is beautiful. better than free i should say.
-
28:38
come on, come on, how about a good attack? how about a good attack like this one? and then you throw that on top 23 damage get destroyed potion of doom back as well. i'll take a bone shards. you can't take bone shards if you want oste to actually survive, but that will just remember that. we'll just remember should be no problem. i haven't forgotten anything in this game ever so not too concerned. think i'll start with the afterlife.
-
29:19
and i will say for sure, i would actually just be stoked to get the bone shards on turn one. bone shards on turn one is kind of the dream for us. capture spirit on turn one kind of a dream for us as well. is the dream for us also to hit you with a doom potion? do we want you to split faster? i don't know if that's a strategy that makes any sense. you splitting so fast you don't put six, let me think about this for just a moment.
-
29:57
you splitting so fast you don't put six infections in our deck would be nice, but that's also just not gonna happen. i just i mean now i can do some damage but before that was impossible to fathom. there's no reason to kill you this turn because the damage you're doing is just damage.
-
30:27
i would have killed you before the next turn where you're putting nine total infections into our 19 card deck and i have one aoe and i just drew it. wait, but at least we have the bone shards here. it sucks to lose the oste, but we could theoretically draw it on this turn and then just finish this fight and get out of a jam. theoretically was doing a little heavy lifting but
-
31:08
please, please for the love of god, draw it, draw it, draw it. oh my god, we drew it! but it doesn't do enough damage. draw it again. two attackers this turn. one attack. oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, oh my god, i'm so bad! this was horrible! thanks for watching, hope you've enjoyed it. we'll be back to do the necrobinder again. i'm still, i love slay the spire, i'm having fun. just...
-
31:39
michael jordan's flu game if the flu was real and not food poisoning from domino's pizza anyone else see the last dance anyway, thanks for watching. i'll see you next time later
