and we're back right away, and of course we're back right away, because you can't let that kind of, that horrible, horrible necrobinder streak stay any longer. you gotta get abrasive right off the bat and get back up on the freaking horse, man. umm... abrasive by itself. what i'm wondering is if i take this risky path, could i actually fight three elites? i don't think it's impossible. and thorn seemed like, i mean, i shouldn't even be talking about like the elites because
-
0:34
every time i'm like, oh, this is aoe focused. that's good for us. i end up like, so the correlation with my performance when i'm talking like that is not good. let's put it that way. it's very bearish. like joel from eternal sunshine, i just bought this mind because his last name was bearish in case you were watching the movie when you were on your phone. you know what? i feel like there's, we're building towards sly. anything with some discards would be crazy here. prepared is a discard engine.
-
1:12
and then apart from that, waterfall giant, i mean, i can't believe i'm saying it, throw the snake bite in. it has retained, bro. it has retained. surely at some point we would find it possible to play because it has retained. so what's the tale of the tape? what's the key to our success? being able to play, huge, being able to play,
-
1:52
abrasive for free is essentially like the only thing that matters. i think. as long as we can do that, we'll pop off. are you really dealing 14 damage? basically, we need more things that can get sly triggered. because...
-
2:15
right now our energy is not good enough to play all the cards we think are important for us to play. but if we can get sly going, memento mori is going to be really helpful. and there's another sly engine right there.
-
2:27
hand trick to make snake bites lie would also be great. now, see, this is where you're starting to pick me off a little bit. you're starting to tick me off a little bit. because we had abrasive, we had memento mori, we didn't have any of our three discard engines. and then on the next turn, just to make me appear foolish, you didn't give me any either. i know i have them in the deck, i put them there myself. okay? don't lie to me, walt. what do you got for me? i need to play these, unfortunately.
-
2:58
i would have loved to have fished for something, but you gotta do what you gotta do. and still, this happened on the last silent run as well. we're not taking a bunch of damage. we have nothing to cry about yet. a dagger spray is nice, but we learned last time you don't necessarily need it. now, would i like to have it for this fight? yeah, that would be pretty swell. go ahead, take a little damage. let's be bad. i'm still stunned that we have not gotten a free payoff on abrasive on turn one.
-
3:41
it's the way of the world, man. one of these. then we get a kill on you, buys us another turn. no discard engine. classic. classic setup, taking four damage. probably getting to the point where we're considering forcing a rest. which i would really rather not.
-
4:14
cuz upgrading like prepared would be twice as likely to actually, my god, you're doing 26 damage cuz i didn't think about it at all. no, of course we have to rest man. great, great, welcome. thank you for finally showing up. do like a noxious honestly with what we're trying to build. we have to rest. we have to rest and then we're at the mercy of our card draw essentially. i think a snakebite goes crazy here.
-
4:54
seems like the perfect enemy to get that out against early. my god, we actually got to play abrasive. now, we only got to draw one defend, but i'm still pleased with it. let's stack up your poison. yeah, let's stack up your poison. we have some decks now. should be a little easier for us to make it through this twisted world. people live and people die and peter, lois, megan, brian, what i'm talking about?
-
5:33
now unfortunately we live in a joke world so i'm gonna have to rest again. but we're gonna be resting with the benefit of having received another relic. three upgraded shivs, every time you play an attacker skill upgrade it for the remainder of combat. i don't wanna talk about it. we have to fight one more elite, let's keep it that way. let's keep it at one. first hand you draw is now upgraded, that's actually really nice. honestly, i wanna live. we have basically bag of prep.
-
6:12
we don't need to upgrade one card if instead this is all going to be upgraded, which is beautiful. we weaken you, certainly a great opportunity for snakebite, shadowmeld. i'll endeavor to play it a little bit more often on this run. drop the abrasive for free. now i have much less to complain about, to be honest with you. our draw has been a lot better.
-
6:39
now you might be wondering like last time you played as the silent, it seemed like your defense was so crazy. what happened? well, we had a bunch of foot works as well. we got them really early, which was great. i think you probably, i mean, i get the idea of bubble bubble. the same thing that worked for us last time. i don't think there's any reason it can't work for us this time. this was not necessary. but you know what it does? we're getting some good stuff off my mental, maury.
-
7:19
and what was that? that was basically just applying a little bit of poison every single turn and then stacking up so much defense that nothing could harm us. i can live with that. i think we're okay. i do think that we probably should have used the potion, don't get me wrong. a leg sweep fits into our overall plan. and then this is just as early as we could get abrasive. oh, if we could get
-
7:56
12 damage, this is fine. if we could get a playable abrasive, i might even shell out the energy and play it myself, man. but luckily we don't have to. okay, so i complained early and i've been rewarded immediately. let that be a lesson to you. we're taking three damage off this, we do not care. even if we're whiffing on a potion, save these two potions for the boss, i can live with that.
-
8:18
discard, discard, you're doing what? you're already dead. you're taking 13 damage. i put up defense then. unless i can get a lethal, we're not playing that memento mori against these guys. this was the actually kind of surprisingly, but the ideal elite fight. you get dumped on 14 block, little bit more block for us. this is now looking good. and now i can finally look at who we're fighting against. something i should have done a long time ago. you're cooked. you're not cooked, but you'll be cooked pretty soon.
-
8:52
touch of insanity. okay, actually touch of insanity is more important than strength. elites drop an additional card reward. okay, elites drop an additional card reward. i'm gonna be bad on this one. i'm gonna be bad and upgrade abrasive. now i'll be the first to acknowledge... let's get this out here early, man. i'll be the first to acknowledge
-
9:23
we may need to save this block potion for when you blow up and act like you don't know nobody. because we're probably gonna kill you pretty slowly. this was the right play. this is the right play. and then anything we could get out there a little faster. put this poison on a little faster, please. snake bite for zero. unbelievable choice. how much damage are you doing when you explode? 29. okay, as long as you're under the block potion, we're not even slightly scared.
-
10:09
horrible, horrible play. don't talk to me. don't talk to me. i'll play it on tilt, okay? for no reason, really, now that i think about it, for no reason. what do you scale? you scale three per turn, okay? trying to choose prioritize. i was hoping to see like a snake bite. let's keep you weak. we can also weaken you when you're gonna blow up. of course, the downside is that we need to like have the cards for it. this is big. you're dead in two turns.
-
10:46
so you're going to be doing a maximum of 47 damage. i was hoping we could lower that, but it appears that will not be possible. but we've also given ourselves seven block next turn, which i'm realizing now is useless. but two turns of weakness is actually outrageously good. i didn't even think you were going to blow up then. i'm so... i'm off, man. i'm off. my muscle memory just ain't right. so master planner is essential.
-
11:26
i don't think you could take anything else there. and then just to get energy would be so nice. wraith form plus, elites drop an additional relic. transform all strikes in defense. i need the defense. i actually think it's just black star. and you know what? i appreciate this is like a high risk, high reward type of run. there is like a three elite path here. can easily put up enough block. i don't mind taking one damage.
-
12:10
of course, it sucks to not draw the powers that we need, but it could be worse. we could not draw them on the turn after either. i don't know if noxious is as important against lower hp enemies that we can actually conceivably kill with just a little bit of poison. this is horrible. i guess i'll double my block and then drink a block potion. kind of a rare, astute moment of strategy there.
-
12:42
from a guy like me. now you're doing 19 damage which is really messed up. just not very nice. and you're doing 19 damage again which is also not very nice. but this time we get there and we actually got to play master planner. master planner is probably too slow to play here but what's done is done man. can you stop attacking for 14? i've played some skills
-
13:26
i was just gonna say a lot, wait shouldn't you be sly? didn't i pl no i didn't play you never mind. obviously you're sly, you're also sly. wait okay the second cycle is looking a lot better. no no not for us man, not for us. please? ima oooo never mind i'm never gonna complain again! it's good to say imagine a world in which we can actually draw the stuff we need relatively early man.
-
14:10
now, we could also help by the way, we could help ourselves get in front of this situation. all we need to do is get like a well laid plans and then we can just hold the slide cards until we encounter a situation in which they can use a little bit more tenably. i'll take seven damage to hold the shackling potion but i mean, i'm not thrilled about the amount of resting that i see in my future. but i also know it is what it is, man, it is what it is.
-
14:46
you should be killable on this turn. not what you want to be saying as you draw three strikes, but that's okay. skip on that. we... i think we have to go left. we have to take the coward's path. contrary to what i would normally usually say, i actually don't think this enemy is like that bad for us right now. we don't necessarily play a lot of cards. we play like a fairly small number of somewhat high value cards. you know what?
-
15:23
to not have to worry about what you're doing on this turn is very nice. it's an expensive cost in potion standards, but from a potion standpoint, really should have played that early if we were going to play it. i'm realizing, but you will get very, very nauseous. you're getting very, very nauseous. really? it's only four block? well, i think it's got to be done, man, because i'd like prefer not to die. 19 damage. this is huge.
-
16:06
come on, man. prove everybody wrong. you can do it. look at that. oh, look at that. it's beautiful. and then you're dead before you get another chance to attack. well, you're dead as long as i draw anything, which i did. we probably would need a back flip at some point. we're not drawing the stuff i need to draw when i need to draw it. don't need a dramatic entrance. put every rare into your hand. is this the most unbelievable anointed run of all time?
-
16:41
is anointed actually good here? it's really hard for me to justify it. like, it's a combo card, but to draw it when you need to draw it seems borderline impossible, man. for one, one thing's for sure i should say, give me everything half price. i think we just take the white beast statue, a little distilled chaos, and there's going to be a little bit of prayer involved here for sure.
-
17:12
i can't even remember if i hate you, but i'll tell you what i do hate is basically doing nine damage and putting up six block. that's not so fun. let's weaken you and also weaken you and honestly, play some cards bro. at least we got our big boys out there. you are already dying. oh, and i really want to play master planner. i really want to play master planner. so what's the game plan?
-
17:58
it's a great question. do you just out of curiosity, do you mean in the long term or the short term? because if you mean the long term, that's really nice because i'm not sure we necessarily have a long term. but i guess i guess the answer is we'll see. oh my god, i can play a snake by 20 damage. you came back with the strength. that's pretty rude, man. you're just not quite within striking distance. i think you're you're obviously cooked, which is great. 13 damage. we can live with that.
-
18:35
all we need to do, we might even get... oh, we can! this is the big one! master planner and then this defend blocks for 18 because we played a shadow meld. not that this is really going to be a long fight. oh my god, you're doing 40 damage, bro! well, you have to die.
-
19:05
and then we actually managed to block like exactly enough which is kind of crazy and now we've only got to hit you for a little bit. and luckily this is... god gives his most retained snake bites to his strongest gamers. okay calculated gamble is a huge side enabler no combat it's got i mean it literally has to be heal 25 and i do not want it just to be clear but
-
19:29
here we go again, at least we got the bellows which is actually being super helpful for upgrading the first cards that we draw. i guess it's gotta be squash but again i would rather it's nothing. and then this is where like we have elite relics, black star and white star and they're so nicely positioned like right next to each other. but we need to get some serious payouts man. this just sucks to be honest with you.
-
20:07
let's discard a dodge and roll, play master planner and play noxious and then store the rest. i really don't want to take 19 damage but sometimes you know you got to do what you got to do. hear me out, i think you shadow meld first, then you obviously want the abrasive. and then at least that's a pretty good amount of block and i almost feel like we could start building the run at this point.
-
20:42
and the run of course, it all revolves around snakebite man. crazy as it is to say. oh that was sly. okay we take a little damage, more than we had to i'll admit but that's right. a lot of our skills will be sly. none of our skills will be sly. but taking zero damage. it just took us all of our hp to stabilize against this guy, no big deal.
-
21:18
you're a sly. actually, this is huge because you discard... oh, the snakebite is sly too. but it's retain. we'll just discard it next turn. it might literally be the best card in the game. dump your snakebite. there's 10 free poison on you. you're literally dead. and we almost didn't take any damage making it happen. energy potion. we're getting a lot of rewards. kusarigama. not really what we're looking for. amethyst obirgene. not really what we're looking for. hand trick. definitely what we're looking for.
-
21:49
i don't think we want to apply poison at an additional time. i do think we need another power as expensive as it is. we need another power to enable our synergy. this is gonna be annoying. no discards? okay, well, noxious, that's enough. buy some vulnerable. i mean, i could use an energy potion to do snakebite, but i'd much rather use it to, well here i'd much rather use it to play abrasive sadly.
-
22:26
and then we do still take 10 damage, which sucks pretty bad. but i mean, abrasive is like the most important card that we have. this is a classic man. shadowmeld into discarding your whole hand, into drawing stuff we don't have enough energy to really feel good about playing. but at least we take no damage and we're applying poison every turn and they're taking damage from thorns every turn. and now, now we got a freaking synergy. are you seeing this?
-
23:06
after all that, getting to 17 block is so crazy because we're coming off that silent run where i played like no cards and i was like, what the heck? a million block? you're too good to me. but we're actually not quite as cooked as i thought we might be. i think a lot of our chance for success depends on the elite that we're about to go up against. big potion to cut the lead to 42. i'm looking at the time because i'm like, if we lose,
-
23:46
do we have time to run back one? we probably do. i think we need to fight an elite because we need to leverage our relics, man. and this is probably the best elite that we could be fighting, even though it is also the most annoying elite. you absolutely need noxious fumes. you put up as much block as you can, which is a lot. and then would it be crazy to... it would be crazy to play the block. it's more important for us to knock one out as soon as possible. now this...
-
24:23
this strikes me as not good. 16 damage, which means we're going down to 11 hp. you will die next turn. keep in mind that after this we have a boss. yikes! we can you... 28. i think we take 2 damage. we go down to 9 hp. it's literally better that you live for one more turn. as annoying as it also is. 17. okay, so we're gonna...
-
25:04
i mean we're gonna get hit that's not up for discussion. we're on four life, 29 damage out there starting to be pretty relevant. i can't, i can get there by playing this but then we die. okay so we got to run it back that's okay. i really, i thought we had something going on. i thought we had something going on but apparently we got nothing going on. let's go back to the main menu.
-
25:37
that one hurts because i really feel like if there was just a way that we could have gotten abrasive into our hand early, we would have been loving life, man. go ahead, let's make it a different sort of run. let's build from brass tacks, man. you know what i really miss from slay the spire 1 that's not in slay the spire 2 yet? when you have a garbage... not that that run was that bad, but when you have a garbage run,
-
26:08
one second play that um and then you go back to the whale and the whale is like okay enemies in your next three combats have one hp it's just so nice to be like because it almost gives you three fights to burn off the tilt because you get attached to those runs and you go there's no way we could lose because i constructed it it gives you a chance to get over the emotions let's put it that way um dump this can you
-
26:41
not have me be frail anymore. i don't think it's fair that i take so much damage against a simple corpse slug such as yourself. and i'll stand by that neutralize upgrade any day of the week, by the way. i've literally never tried an outbreak run. let's give it a shot. now, hopefully this won't be one of those times where you take something that requires a keyword and then you never see cards that have that keyword. it's a tale as old as time, but we could break the cycle here. huge. and then some poison. snake bite, huh?
-
27:26
really hard to play snakebite three times to get the benefit of the power, but i've also learned i think i've learned at least to be like less greedy or well to be more greedy it's just a different sort of greed. i suppose what i mean by that is instead of like saying i will never take any damage and
-
27:52
and thus waiting forever for the perfect turn to play snakebite. getting it out there before enemies can actually get buffed might be the move for us, man. i'll still take a calculated gamble. i'll add a clumsy. happy flower seems pretty good. horrible turn. much, much better turn. and honestly, this is like the counterexample. i'm not playing snakebite until i get the perfect turn here. this, to me, is the perfect turn. taking two damage to apply seven poison.
-
28:33
i had extra energy from happy flower, my bad y'all. now they are gonna take all my golds. so we wanna make sure we kill them in a way that makes sense. like i almost feel and this is also greedy. i almost feel like you wait for this turn so that that way we're weak. we're gonna be weak next turn too though. i mean, we need to be able to kill, the best way to do is to hit you and then hit you and then find a way to do 11 damage.
-
29:12
we can do 11 damage. it also requires us to take 10 damage which sucks really bad. i'm sorry, it might not even be the right ev play but i'm refusing to let you get away with my gold. that's my goal. it's the principle of the matter. i love an escape plan, man. okay, we're probably gonna die to the first to least. as is tradition, we don't really have anything that, that's nice though. we don't really have anything that should impress you with what's going on in our run right now.
-
29:49
i really don't see a world in which outbreak is getting much done for us here. and yet we find ourselves playing it regardless. oh, it's every... don't talk to me. don't talk to me, walt. it's every three times you... no, apply. okay. apply is not the same as deal poison damage. but you can still talk to me. i'm sorry i said don't talk to me. it turns out you can still talk to me. you need to take
-
30:27
15 damage is that the sort of thing that could oh my god. no like this yeah, like this like this okay, and more more poison to get this popping off and then you have to rest and this this is where we start to fall behind the power curve for sure but six max hp or two cards two more cards with retain well, okay a neutralized with retain is huge and then i feel like i
-
31:03
calculate, but calculate a gamble will get there on an upgrade anyway. so maybe on an outbreak? that seems right to me. outbreak and neutralize. yeah, yeah, send them. if you did not play any attacks gained four block, wait, this actually could be good for us. i'm starting to see that maybe we have a little, we have a narrow window. the golden path, as timothy chalamet said. would you rather deal damage, draw or remove? an ethereal curse is not that bad. give me a flash of steel.
-
31:45
although i suppose in some situations it will cost us four block. you get weakened, you get hit, play an outbreak, shuffle them around. you know what? do some poison, put up a little bit of block. it feels like all we need to do is apply two more poison and then at least one of you will die. apply poison two times more, i should say. now, unfortunately, one of our poisons is really expensive. but this is, dude, now, anoxious fumes would go crazy.
-
32:21
and how much do you do? 11 damage. amazing. incredible. you're doing 8 damage, so like this and then... this is really, really good. surprisingly good. you're already dead. i don't see a reason to try to kill you quick. makes more sense to stall, i think. well, there is no stalling.
-
32:54
bag of prep, pretty nice. we don't really need a sly card. i do feel like flichette's could do some damage, but we're really just very poison coated. 16 damage turn one. i mean, if you're not ticked off by that, are you paying attention? that's pretty nasty. we got our aoe power out there, but i just... i guess the balancing act is that at least there's one turn where only one attacks. i actually don't care if you summon another one.
-
33:39
i do care about taking some damage here, but that's okay. and we're two poisons away from outbreak, which is a long way. but it's not that long if we just throw one out here and then also get to work on you. oh, and then we draw it next turn, please, if we just draw it next turn. but then there's another one out there. but he's dead! okay, wait, wait, this is, it's coming together, man. another poison stab, okay, okay. and you have to rest. i do not want to see this fish again.
-
34:16
i mean, fishy on me is not even the best song off of tico's album wave. i'd say the best song is strawberry. strawberry's the classic, man. yeah, my kid's been listening to some tico in the car. great start. i mean, we got our power out there. we got two poisons out there. you couldn't ask for anything more than that. i suppose we could ask for like not taking 12 damage because we drew no blocks, but if i didn't want to take damage, i guess people would probably say, hey, put some blocks in your deck.
-
34:47
and i refuse, of course i refuse cuz last time i took only blocks and it didn't work. so obviously blocks are bad so we'll never take a block again. fellas already got intangible. honestly, great turn to stack up some poison. and we gained extra block cuz we didn't play any attacks, huge. one more, we get the aoe as well. not awesome, but hey, you will die next turn cuz you will die to poison on this turn. officially, this has been the best run i've had all day then.
-
35:27
hang on i got some discord messages here. give me a moment. okay, one moment, please. all right, we're back but in about 10 minutes or so we will have to put a little break into this one. but oh my god, invenom! forget about the break. maybe we just win in 10 minutes, man. enchant the skill. i mean, okay, wait. suppress, innate retain, 17 damage, 5 weak. so it keeps the enchantment which is incredible. but enchant the skill with imbued is also amazing.
-
36:03
but it would really just apply snakebite probably. i think that this is the... it's neutralizing to suppress. especially 5 week, pretty important for us as a deck with very limited amounts of defend right now. that seems amazing. i still only have 3 energy. we don't need to play in venom against basics.
-
36:40
i think at least. i mean, it would be nice to get it out there if we have the energy base to do so, but that's probably unrealistic. more energy this turn by the way, so actually like pay attention. the most important thing against weak enemies like this i think is gonna be getting the outbreak, the aoe damage. i'm actually gonna throw a snake bite on you, can you believe it? cuz that puts us one away from the aoe. it's gonna do nine, that's still pretty good.
-
37:11
big suppress we could actually that's a very efficient turn man we got to kill you and then put enough poison on you to kill you even though it looked a little you know milk toast that was pretty solid. we're at the point. i don't think we need another snake bite and if we have too many innate cards that's all we're gonna draw. it's not really like a big deal if the cards are good, which they kind of are but they're kind of awesome
-
37:46
six and three. i can't believe i'm burning like every potion just to make sure you die, but... oh no, we had an elephant statue on the last round. that's right. got a little ahead of myself there. seven poison on an enemy with 23 hp is pretty solid. and then just taking no damage and also doing no damage, but you're getting damaged by poison, so i don't care, and now you're dead. that did cost us a lot though, potion wise. as any other character, i always want to grab the silent cards.
-
38:29
defect cards, we could get like an ftl. let's take a look. i don't think a claw does anything for us. our deck's just too thick. we can have one orb, but we have energy problems. why can i say that i actually think like one glass is kind of awesome? one energy and then it's going to evoke every turn as well? like that seems crazy. okay, a card that comes around every time we shuffle. literally just give me that escape plan. i want to play it as many times as i can.
-
39:08
i think this is an invenom situation, man. the only thing is now i can't really play outbreak. but do we need to play outbreak if we're putting so much poison on ourselves that will just kill you to poison? i don't know. so this is where i'm... don't you get an orb? you don't get an orb slot? so i just... i add... oh, you get one! it just took us... because i forgot it's not upgraded. yeah, yeah, okay, okay. i still... i stand by that. i think that's really good. no, don't dump the retain card.
-
39:51
and now that we got the combo out here, i mean like i feel like this is horrible news for you, man. i didn't even play my strike. but look at the damage, look at the damage! i feel like it's really hard. you know what, if we get a bullet time, we'll be happy to have the snake bites. and then just toss me, we don't need any more poison. the draw, i'm not even sure the draw is good. again, you might hate this, man, but i really think we gotta keep ourselves alive, let the relics carry us a little bit.
-
40:37
we gotta fight two elites anyway. i think that was a w rest to be honest with you. you know, suppress retains. there's absolutely no reason to dump it on a non attacking enemy. little inefficient but i stand by it. we need outbreak. there it is. the king. so kind of only play one block. i'd really like, it kills you. okay, so we still take 11 but we should probably just be trying to hit three times then.
-
41:25
what you take, you do what? 11 damage? huge. and then you can hit again and again. that's one more poison set off. and then you're essentially already dead, right? two of those kills you? that was okay. this will be the first real test to see if this deck can do anything. this is like the best opportunity for this. we'll certainly suppress you, summon a spinner. i'd rather not take 16 damage, but

i'm gonna bet on the power of our thorns and a snakebite can do something later. oh, a bullet time would go crazy. bullet time's in this game, right? that's not a slay the spire 1 exclusive? outbreak, very important. you know what? a great turn for that you don't retain, so i'll play you. you do retain, but that's okay. 24 damage, not good. not good at all. but you probably die next turn. you're definitely dead this turn now.

bronze scales, pretty big. snakebite, they're trolling me a little bit with the frequency of which the snakebites are being received right now. we could probably do one more elite fight and then we gotta throw in our paws. but for now, invenom necessary. suppress, very important. i think this is a two defends, one poison stab situation. we'll find a better turn to use snakebite. energy should be easier to come by now. not on this turn though. youch! what's our life gonna look like? 18.

i was gonna say we get one energy off of that. save the suppress man. that one extra turn, you know, you would hope that maybe it doesn't make a difference. i mean, i've said save it and then i used it but that this is what i was saving it for man. my seven life, we would at least play one of those. and then we got the energy back so we play one more and we freaking made it man. rainbow ring attack skill power in a turn gives you strength and decks.

i got time for one more fight. it's a good game, don't blame me. it's a good game. suppressed, then get the pole and it gave us extra strength index huge and then get the glass out there and then be killed and then just immediately be killed. so that's fun. well, if i'm gonna go out, i'm going out on my own terms, okay? i'm going out due to thorns. well, that's great timing, honestly. thanks for watching. i hope you've enjoyed it. if you think i like what helps out a great deal, of course.
