i don't like the idea that like, you know, these indie developers spend like two years developing a game and then i'm gonna play it for an hour and i shoot them an email that sucks up their time and i'm like, meh, give me your game, i'm a streamer! i'll just pay the 15 bucks. you know, it's like buying the radio license to play something. anyway, don't even start with me buddy, i see all the other comments from people. $15 for this game? i'll wait eight years until it's on sale for $12.50, these devs are so entitled.

one of the best indie games i've played this year, it's got like 94 95% positive reviews on steam. one of the top negative reviews was from somebody with like 9 hours played and it said, how stupid are the devs to have an achievement for beating a run fast when the whole game is about being patient and making tactical decisions. it runs completely counter to the design philosophy of the game.

i proposed, uh, i forgot who it was, was it uh, mike, mike malbeck? i think he said something about, no, well mike bithill too, but i don't think he said it on twitter. mike malbeck said something about like having a, moving around somewhere, changing houses, like why don't we make a youtuber colony with indie devs? and that seemed like a good idea to me, and then we could just film the whole thing, and it would be like a tv show. you would never ever ever sleep in that house, i will tell you that much right now. well i already don't, so who cares?

smiley face. well, i'm glad if it's you, i'm glad i didn't say what i was gonna say then. which was, why don't you just do what most indie devs do and not implement online multiplayer because it's too hard. and then when people ask why not, then you just say, well, it's part of the local game renaissance. we're trying to bring back local multiplayer. there's such a bias against local multiplayer these days that we decided to completely forego online multiplayer in order to focus on the local side.

thanks indie game devs! ruined it for all of us. well, i just, if it was lump of coal i probably would have re rolled it anyway. really? because i'm going hard on guppy, man. i can't get the guppy items anymore. they don't show up. well, i mean, i got one of them. and presumably if you found, uh, if you found guppy's collar then that should be in my rotation somewhere.

what doesn't happen? i think, for the most part, the best games. they don't necessarily make the most money, but they do make money. i do agree to some extent. like, when, you know, we follow a bunch of indie devs, and when they're like, you know, my game didn't do well on steam, sometimes i play it and i go, i see why.

you guys are crazy. maybe it's just all the indie devs want to fuck the squids. everybody is finna fuck these squids. i was surprised they came out of splatoon 2. i thought the first one was... just came out like a year or two ago. they pushed that one out. i was like, was that successful? alright. i don't think this is okay. wanting to fuck the squids. can we... that's not okay?

by the way, this is islanders new shores. thank you again to coatsink for the sponsorship. it's a... i feel bad calling it a cozy game. i think it is a cozy game, but it's like... you know what it reminds me of? i don't know if devs are in chat. was rimmed capsule an inspiration for this? rimmed capsule is how, like... that's how people know i'm a real one. it's a fairly old swedish indie... i'm trying to think how to describe it. a minimalist...

so, like, not all the booths are empty, but, like, we went to the indie mega booth last year, there were like 12 games in the mega, it's not that big, but nobody was there at any of them. like, even the devs weren't there, so you just kinda like walked up and started playing, like, you know how it packs, it's like at least a 20 minute, 15 minute wait for anything. and then you just need to talk to the devs. wow. yeah, right? you need to be like, oh yeah, i really liked it. we're gonna play that again.

you know, indie devs on the other hand, you know, they're not interested financially, you know, because they're indie, it's totally different, you know, they're not as concerned with profits and stuff like that. so this was, you know, society's words, not necessarily mine.
