you do stuff in that game that is not just walking around? oh, you do tons of stuff in that game. i did not. and it's not like i wrote it off because of that, because i can get down with a good walking sim. but i saw someone doing some gameplay, and i was like, oh, that game looks neat. what is it? what remains of edith finch? i had no idea. you have to be aware, though, the gameplay in it is really a minor diversion, and they're always very simple little tasks, all of which conclude in about five to ten minutes. but they do break up the walking part of it a bit, which is nice.

and funny enough, i just today deleted edith not edith finch, uh, dear esther from my hard drive. and i was like, what? would i even like this today? or is this just like the the lower rung on the narrative ladder of how we got to where we are? because i remember at the time i played it, i actually kind of teared up at the end. but i don't know if i would feel it as much now because we just kind of moved in another direction. everything's more intense now. yeah, i think writing in games has gotten stronger. yeah.
