it's an item that can be okay in certain situations if you have the ability to kind of hit enemies constantly, which is obviously difficult on a fight like this where we're constantly having to move due to the bombs that pestilence is shooting out. however, i really can't complain about getting some extra poison damage on top of the pretty good damage we were doing already. so i did get hit once. that might ruin our deal with the devil chances, but we're gonna get a cube of meat regardless. i really should pop the nail so we can get the extra charges just in case i get hit again.

yes, okay, famine will give me a cube of meat which will become part of my halo of flies, at least for its first two stages, and will give me like three layer protection instead of just two layer protection. or three point protection, i guess. wow, that was a terrible dodge. i desperately need a damage upgrade. i think it goes without saying. if we get a damage upgrade... wow, i was really thinking there would be a deal with the devil there. if we got a deal with the devil for any sort of damage upgrade, i would probably jump on that as soon as possible, but we were kind of running out of time for getting truly great items.

mostly it was because we're a little bit low on... oh man, that was nasty damage. we're a little bit low on reroll potential on this floor. so i'd like to save it for maybe a deal with the devil. we're pretty unlikely to get one, but it can happen. first level cube of meat is gonna be nice. remember i was just complaining about not having an orbital. would love to get some more spirit hearts from the relic as well. this floor did not treat me right. eh, oh well. alright, let's take the pill quickly just to see what it is. that's really good. balls of steel helps us out a lot in this situation.
